F1 2022 Season

The feck has happened to the mercs? Backwards upgrades, or did others make a leap forward? Thought Ferrari brought nothing and yet they are even faster?

Can't get tyre temps. Their car seems to struggle to heat/maintain temp in the tyres. This drops the ride height as the pressure drops and makes their purpoising issues worse.

Out in Q1
Confirmation of the five drivers who failed to make it through to Q2:
16) Yuki Tsuonda - AlphaTauri
17) Pierre Gasly - AlphaTauri
18) Nicholas Latifi - Williams
19) Esteban Ocon - Alpine
20) Alex Albon - Williams

oh carlos carlos carlos....

He has the talent but he's forcing it right now. Such shame for him.

It probably explains why their race pace isn't as bad as their qualifying if their tyres get up to temperature after a few laps.

Yep + the extra fuel helps generate more friction etc. They also aren't bad on tyre usage in race pace so their weakness doesn't show as much.

In qualy trim though it's a bit of a dog.

Carlos really starting to show himself as a champion level bottler. Has to sort his head out.

Very fast driver in the fastest car but these mistakes will end his chances of being a number 1 driver for a top team.

Lewis and George aint gonna be improving on the top 10 times if the rain is back.

Current drop zone
Here are the unlucky five who look set to have had their Q2 hopes ended by the rain.
11) George Russell - Mercedes
12) Mick Schumacher - Haas
13) Lewis Hamilton - Mercedes
14) Zhou Guanyu - Alfa Romeo
15) Lance Stroll - Aston MArtin

Doesn't actually matter, no chance either Merc was getting into Q3 anyway looking at their best times all weekend.

On the plus side I think Norris could easily put it on the second row. What a turnaround for McLaren.

He's definitely not shite but clearly the pressure has got to him this year so far. He can't keep making these costly mistakes.

Yeah, but he is not quite cut out for the top by the looks of it.

Not quite unlucky, they all knew the rain was coming and their first lap was shite.

Norris looking to be far more comfortable than Sainz so far at the top end of the field.
