F1 2022 Season

Leclerc, Verstappen among six drivers taking grid penalties
Charles Leclerc is among six drivers who will incur a grid penalty on Sunday for taking new engine parts.
Joining him at the rear of the grid will be world championship leader Max Verstappen.
The other four drivers taking penalties are Lando Norris, Esteban Ocon, Valtteri Bottas and Mick Schumacher.

Could we see the first Mercedes win of the season, maybe even a 1 & 2 ?
On todays performance looking doubtful, even then you still have Sainz and Perez to worry about. Hope your right though. :D

The race aside, a couple of days left for final PU changes for the next three years!

Sep 1 is the deadline. Rumours that Mercedes have a new ERS that will be similar to RBs in performance maps. Just a rumour though...

"....By 1 September, the engine manufacturers must submit their final designs for the Energy Store (ES), Control Electronics (CE) and the MGU-K. However, there is only one change of specification for these permitted between now and September – this means the components cannot be continuously upgraded throughout this season before the final sign-off.

From 1 September, all performance-focused development is stopped for the next three years..."
So basically a if you're the mercs you should go to the extreme with upgrades and then work on making them work as you will be allowed to upgrade components reliability

Its the designs for 2023 season onwards. Last few components. RB definately have a ERS advantage over ferrari and mercedes. Maybe RB will improve it for next season, maybe not. Always harder to make gains when your attge edge of the envelope in terms of tech.

No a good FP3 for Lewis, was hoping he would improve, Russell fared better, with a good FP3 from Norris.

Hello from Spa. Very casual F1 viewer but looking forward to attending my first ever race

Hamilton's Merc looks like it'd shatter any vertical oscillation sensor. It's bottoming so hard.

both Merc look fecking horrible, WTF have Mercedes being doing during the summer break.
Or since last year for that matter. It's amazing how fast you can be left behind in F1.

I just hope Ferrari have gotten a grip on their reliability issues because they sure fixed the pace factor this year.

OUT IN Q1!
16) Sebastian Vettel (Aston Martin)
17) Nicholas Latifi (Williams)
18) Kevin Magnussen (Haas)
19) Yuki Tsunoda (Alpha Tauri)
20) Valtteri Bottas (Alfa Romeo)
Five different teams! That must be pretty rare.
