Underfueling in these circumstances is Ferrari level incompetence.

He aborted a front row lap to do a pole lap and then had to cancel it to avoid starting 20th.

Fecking hell, Max quit the second to last lap while having the fastest time then is told to break off another fastest lap? What the actual feck? Whatever the reason a major feckup by Red Bull.

red bull ferraring for the first time this year

Surely if it was a fuel sample issue for Max, they wouldn't have let him do nearly the whole lap?

Could he not have gone over the line then stopped?

If they knew fuel was a problem they should never have let him abort the first attempt, it was easily good enough for the front row at least.

But Sergio didnt run out of fuel so did Max use more or did they underfuel him?

Max is well pissed off and you can understand why.
It could b down t fuel, better to get P8 with fuel for sample, than P1 and get DQ for having no sample.
Even then why abandon the second to last lap? That was easily good enough for front row, maybe even pole. If it was fuel they'd have known by then wouldn't they? Simply a major feckup by Red Bull. Unbelievable.

Yes very good point surely they should have told him he only had enough for that lap so he'd have known he needed to finish it off, he'd have been better than 8th at least. Probably their first shocking decision when they usually come across so slick

Good luck to the person given Max to interview!

Yeah that was weird. Did Max just think feck it on that lap or was he ordered to can and save it for the last lap? Makes little sense either way.

RB fecked up, yeah maybe , Max aborted the second to last because he made a mistake.
You would think they know how much fuel down to the ml was in the tank

That was fun! It will be fun watching drivers cam later, the amount of drifting in last sector was ridiculous.

Leclerc keeps proving he is probably fastest driver over one lap this season(and is still so underrated here for some reason, his one or two mistakes are still described asajor feck ups despite even best driver this season - Verstappen having similar number of big mistakes), but Ferrari have no race pace to take advantage of that. We'll probably see that tomorrow too, they generally looked even slower this weekend from what I have seen, it was just brilliant lap from Leclerc that gave them a pole.

Should be a great race, IMO, very random order.

Btw, Alonso is brilliant once again.

Major feck up. Can't believe he didn't finished second to last lap and then went for pole. He was risking any other driving crashing before him and screwing his lap anyway for no reason.

Max ran out of money… I mean fuel. Would have been disqualified from qually if not enough fuel in the car and it was Max who fecked up by unintentionally doing an extra lap.

I dont remember Max crashing out from 3rd or binning it in the wall while leading.

He also put in 1 or 2 laps faster than Leclerc's pole lap today, at least until the pitlane entrance.
