F1 2023 Season

Shouldn't be allowed to change tyres on a red flag simple. That's just ruined Russell's race

Max will win from here now, as he was always going to do anyway

I want to see the pov of the Alpine I think who had to drive through the gravel flying everywhere. Lucky Albon didn’t roll more onto the track. Did well to drive himself forward a bit as well.

In my view if you red flag after using the safety car, there’s no reason to not revert positions to whatever they were when the safety car started.

Then if you allow tyre changes at least no one wins or loses.

Overall you shouldn’t be allowed to change tyres at all in red flags but that’s another debate.

FFS Red Flag for Gravel? Thought it was for the wall, sport just become more of a joke every week.

Honestly, this is terrible for Mercedes. Verstappen will eat Hamilton alive on the restart, and Alonso is back in the game.

Yeah. The only chance Mercedes had was by playing some kind of DRS shenanigans to keep Russell towing Hamilton.

But my sense is they’d have fecked themselves fighting each other anyway.

Leclerc simply can’t catch a break.

Also Max on the inside, assuming a standing restart. Wouldn’t be surprised to see Max in the lead come turn 3.

But then that ruins races if cars are carrying damage from an incident, or punctures or whatever.

And you can’t undo order changes during sc either. If you pit during a sc you get a massive benefit 95perc of the time. If you pit from first and end up 15th and then a red flag comes out, tough.

It's a joke of a sport these days. Is it actually even a sport when races are won or lost by fake overtakes (DRS) or random safety cars/red flags?

I don't know. I've been following it since the mid nineties and I'm starting to struggle to stay interested

More fun in 9 laps here than on the previous 2 races, why you moaning :(

Monaco GP 1999 it's on YouTube if anyone wants to watch by the way, this FIA panel would have had a panic attack as there was cars off left right and centre and a marshall almost getting run over, but guess what no SC at all.

DRS is one thing but there’s no difference in endurance or touring cars with regards to safety cars and red flags etc. It’s all just racing.

Honestly I’d have sent Hamilton out in softs, and then have fresher hard or medium tyres for the rest of the race after 15-20 on the softs. Feel like he will be eaten up now anyway.

Don't think so. The Red Bull has issues with getting temperature in the tyres on this track. Mercs were better at that during qualifying as well. It's probably why Max had so little grip at the start. Wouldn't be surprised if Alonso overtakes him

Hamilton should be getting penalised for not following the safety car, slam dunk that one
