Fantasy Premier League 18/19

How nailed on is Shaw to start the next few matches? I think he still might be rotated. I have 5M to spend on a defender so wondering whether to make space for Luke Shaw, keep Bennett (Wolves don't have good fixtures) or get Adam Smith (Bournemouth's next 5 fixtures are pretty good)?

Damn, that’s bad news about Mendy.

Very tempted to wildcard now given I’m already on a -8. Annoying thing is it feels like a wasted wildcard as some price changes have already been missed earlier in the week (such as Stephens dropping to 4.4 and Lucas / Fraser both rising).

Thoughts about my team? I have 2 free transfers and 0.1 in the bank. Im debating wether to sell Salah and get Richarlison + a better attacker in, but think ill do that next week.

At least keep a Liverpool player for Soton and maybe scrap after Soton. According to FFScout Soton's left side is one of the most conceding sides, so Mane + a better attacker could also be an idea.

How long will Mendy be out for? If it's just a week, I'll rather keep him. Also thinking about taking out Seri and Moura for Fraser and Richarlison. Should I do it this week and take a 4-point hit or hold off till next week?

If you dont have Alonso its a no-brainer yeah

Costs me -4, but think I will.

Would give me

De Gea
Shaw -Alonso -Robertson -Vestegaard -Wan Bissaka
Salah - Hazard - Fraser - Milosevic - Stephens
Aguero-Ings-Jiminez

Last week a minus 4 including Hazard reaped massive rewards, so will see if Alonso does the same.

I don't think -4 is ever worth it for a defender personally, unless you can only field 10 players and even then its touch and go. You can field Shaw, Robertson and WB who all have decent fixtures. Just my opinion, of course, but I think its a bad move.

I'm a little nervous that Shaw has a bit of a chance of rotation - although Tuesday looks a better game for Young to deputise in.
Alonso is one of the few defenders who is a bit special, otherwise i'd agree with you. He has midfielder output.

The other thing, is that if Mendy is out for at least a few weeks, which seems very likely, he'd need to be shipped anyway, as he's too costly to just hold.

With Ings suspended, i'd be aiming to play 4-4-2 which already includes Jiminez at Old Trafford. If I hold Mendy, then Stephens comes in and gets me a max 2 pointer.

So that's my wildcard gone, then. With the Mendy news, I simply had to pull the trigger. Kept Salah. 1,4 in the bank.

How's Pedro's injury situation? As it stands I subbed him off for Wan Bisaka

Currently settling on this after the WC:

Schmeichel
AWB - Alonso - Robertson - Shaw
Hazard - Mane - Maddison - Fraser
Aguero - Firmino

GK - Hojbjorg, Quaner, Mendy
Now the dreaded captain pick. Hazard, Aguero or Firmino?

Wan Bissaka is the way to go with that one, I think. Wan Bissaka is set and forget for the rest of the season. Best case, he keeps going. Worst case, he's a productive enabler.

Choose a striker for the next game:

Mitrovic (Watford (H))
Zaha (Newcastle (H))

I've prolly got ten players for tomorrow  Mendy out, Ings out, Peltier not going get any minutes as usual, Pedro also might not get any minutes. Wasted all my free transfers on Monday and nothing in the bank to allow me to have a meaningful -4 hit. Trying hard not to wildcard.

Got rid of Mendy, Mkhi, Stekelenburg, Bednarek, Tomkins, Mané, Robertson and (possibly) Arnautovic. Fresh start. 59k and confident.

Should I sub Arnatuvic! He might not play. But then i will only stuck with Ings besides Lukaku.

How bad is this injury? Makes no sense to sell Mendy unless he is out for at least a month.

FF is a microcosm of how reactionary football fans are in general to every result. That being said it may make sense for some people to get rid, if some got him in late then they wont lose much and with Alonso's price about to rise it could be worth it. Not for me though as I had him in since the start so I'd lose big bucks to ship him. Have to wait and see how long he's out for as it all sounds a bit suspect with his injury now.

You'll lose 0.2 and he'll probably drop to at least 6.2 anyway, so I doubt you'd lose anything by selling him. It's a tough decision if its a few weeks, for sure. With a non playing defender already I probably have to ship him.

No it doesn't which is why anyone with any sense will wait. Makes no difference to me if he drops tonight anyway as the selling price is the same (£6.2m). By the time he looks like dropping again we should have some more concrete information.

And on that note I'm going to bed before I change my captain again.

Thanks for the info.

Alonso + Lindeloff or Smalling + Robertson?

What do you guys think?

Absolutely stuck on this.

Makes total sense for me, as I can get him back with 1 ft.

Really having an inner battle of whether to triple captain Aguero or not.

City coming off a loss. Cardiff are dogshite. Ideally I'd use it if Aguero was at home to Cardiff and not away, but I'm still very tempted.

I triple captained Augero when the stars aligned. No single player had scored more against a club, he was at home, Newcastle had a couple injuries and they played midweek. I got shitty points as he did feck all.

It's just a lottery, I hate these extra "fun" cards.

Why not do the sensible thing and save it for when someone like Aguero/Hazard/Kane/Salah/Mane has a decent double gameweek late in the season...

Just stupidly took a -12 hit to brought in De Gea, Fraser, Maddison and Hojbjerg (kneejerk transfer this one) and got rid off Fabianski, Bernardo Silva, Mkhitaryan and Neves. All those transfers were made with the possibility of price changes in mind. I need to stop visiting those sites.
