FC Porto vs Manchester United

In my opinion it really comes down to one thought. Can we score 2 goals? I can't see us winning this game 1-0. I'd love it but I just can't see us keeping a clean sheet there the way we've been playing. But as long as we would score 2 I can't see us losing anyway. Even if it ended tied 2-2 I'd fancy us going through in extra time or penalties. I can't see them beating us 3-2 either. I am feeling we can score 2 though. :D

My prediction is we go through 2-1. Giggs and Vidic scoring in a very nervey one again.

I think we'll definitely need a hard working midfield and some legs in there judging from last game. Might be contradicting myself but I wouldn't play Park, don't think he's played well recently and it seems whenever a ball is played into him, he gets closed down and loses it straight away whereas other players we have are good enough to keep possession.

Vds
O'Shea-Rio-Vida-Evra
Anderson-Carrick-Felcher
Ronaldo-Berbatov-Roonrick

I rather we go 4-3-3....but won't happen. If we do go 4-4-2, tempted to play Nani since he would have a understanding of the atmosphere.

Anyways here is what I would like to see....

VDS
O'Shea-Rio-Vida-Evra
Carrick-Fletcher (we gotta run down fernando)
Ronaldo - Giggs - Rooney (but want to see him play more off a berba than necessary wide left)
Berba

Subs: Foster, Nani, Kiko, Tevez, Park, Evans, Anderson

BTW whenever you guys read teh stadium title...does it also remind you of Rocky 4?

I have a feeling that this may kick start our performances, after a few gritty performances we usually pick up our game a little and show a bit of class...

Beware Portsmouth.

If United play as well as they did in Milan, they will saunter to a win.

My team for this has changed in my mind countless times but I'd settle for this:

-----------------VDS-----------------
O'Shea-------Rio------Vidic-------Evra
Ronaldo-----Fletch----Giggs-------Park
----------Rooney------Tevez---------

Subs: Foster, Nev, Evans, Anderson, Nani, Macheda, Berbatov.

I think they are the only two areas what are up for dispute. Think Scholes and Carrick are more suited to European aways where keeping the ball is imperative. That said, their inclusion may push Giggs into the wider role.

Berbatov seems to be favourite these days for Euro Aways as well.

See I thought about this a lot but I think Giggs will definitely start, as will Fletcher. They were both rested yesterday with Wednesday very much in mind. Also Berbatov had the ice pack on him yesterday, whether that was precaution remains to be seen but even if he has a niggling injury then Tevez should definitely start. The last thing we need in this type of game is a half fit Berbatov who can't contribute much.

I'm praying for rain in my part of the world. We're suppose to shoot an outdoor scene, so if it rains we can't do it, and I get to watch the match. Come on you rain.

are you the makeup guy ?

I think we're definitely going to need at least 2 goals, I can see Porto scoring.

Are you a porn director?

He wouldn't admit it if he was so I think we can assume he is.

--Ronaldo---------Berbatov-----------Rooney--

Subs: Foster, Evans, Carrick, Tevez, Nani, Anderson, Macheda
Formation: We are playing a 4-3-3/4-5-1 with Ronaldo and Rooney as midfielders/attackers depending on nature of the game. Central midfield of Fletcher (chase every ball, break of Porto's midfield), Scholes (to switch the ball to the wings, slip through balls), Giggs (to drive forward with the ball from central midfield).
Prediction: 1-2 win for us with goals from Vidic and Rooney.

I expect we will concede, hopefully we keep a clean sheet but just don't think so.

Our current form says so, the thing is to get the more goals we can get to make sure we dont get out by the away goal rule.

2-2 means injury time. 3-3 we advance. yeah i know its shit but thats how we stand right now, we need a win or a draw by more than 2 goals .

My pessimistic prediction: Porto 3-1 United :(

Rooney 17'
Lisandro 68' 71'
Lucho (pen) 87'

My optimistic prediction : Porto 1-2 United :)

Rooney 17'
Vidic 53'
Lisandro 71'

3-1 to Porto would be a worst case scenario if Porto monopolise possession and United don't defend well enough. However, if United take their chances then i'm sure the team are capable of sneaking a win.

3-1 would be the score if United score first early in the game and reckon it will be a easy game...

I don't know about people who suddenly don't care about the Champions League, I for one, am very anxious for us to progress. Its a great cup to win.

I'm really excited about this game. I hope it is not a open game. We will win it if they try to defend.

Not only that but given the side of the draw we are on it would be a massive shame if we cant defend our trophy
