Football Betting Thread 10/11

I had a pretty good run today.

Scored following bets:

United to win @ 2.25

United to lead by HT @ 2.90

United to win 2-1 at FT @ 9.20

Hernandez to score first @ 6.20

The ones I missed out on:

United to score from a penalty @ 10.00

United to win with a clean sheet @ 3.90

United to win (hcp 0-1) @ 4.60

United to win 2-0 at FT @ 11.20

Had £2 on Hernandez to score first and United to win 2-1 at 50/1, gutted I didn't put more on :(

Tempted to do a Crouch 2-1 City scorecast at 109/1 but not sure if he will start, might wait till the teams are announced

Just had a call from Betfair, he told me that they had a promotion where any £30 bet will be refunded if it looses and theyll give 30 on top if it wins...I asked if it would just go into a free bet when its refunded but he said it would be fully withdrawable. He said it was exclusive to the phone call though so dont attempt it on your accounts lads!

I should have asked more questions, seems odd it has to be £30

I'm tempted do to the accumulated double of:

City winning @ 1,90
United winning (1-0 hcp) @ 3,20

Total odds: 6.08

I was able to get 6 cards or over for tonight at 7/1 in my local bookies.

United to win at 4/1

I NEVER touch goalscorer bets but took Park at 7/1 for anytime scorer...

Put VDS as man of the match. 12/1 odds. I think its fairly likely considering we will be facing a fair few shot at goal and to win VDS will be pulling off a fair few saves, so if its a shut out win then he'll get MOTM (most likely)

12/1 is horrible odds for that mate, wouldn't bet on it.

Was looking at Park but thought his were worse was going to chose VDS but it turns out I missed Park completely and he was lower down with 25/1 which is better.

Not sure what bets to really have on this to be honest. I'm tempted to leave it but think I need to have something on this, even if it is a crap bet.

I would leave it to be honest, I usually bet for excitement, a final is exciting enough without the bets. Furthermore, a final is incredibly hard to bet on. A reasonable bet would be Rooney to score or 0-0 at HT or something, don't know the odds though, and I'm drunk.

I'm not a gambler but I see Hiddink at 4/9 for the Chelsea job. Unless I'm missing something that's pretty much a done deal, so surely that's money for nothing?

I hope you remained a non-gambler.

Sorry lads, but I've put Barca to beat us in the CL final. For no reason, I feel we'll ease through the group stage and avoid them until the final.

I've put £500 on a 3-1 win, with Pedro opening the scoring, followed by a Rooney equaliser. Then Messi and Villa to get the winners. Huge odds but I've definitely got myself a decent bet here.

Never realised I posted this in here! Anyway, the winnings have set me up for life.

Look at the date I made the bet, 18th August 2010. Before the CL groups were even announced. :D

feck!!!! Wow fantastic stuff... I was going on the usual odds for a "normal" bet on that market.

Do you place bets that far in advance? I'd rather spunk it on something sooner.

Doing it a bit more in the last couple of years. My biggest win to date was a bet on liverpool to finish in the top 6 when they were struggling last season. There's value out there sometimes....

OK, so if I put, United, Leicester, Sheff Wednesday, Swindon, PSG, Inter, Bayern and Barcelona to win their leagues I get odds of 17,835/1. Worth a punt?

Liverpool to win the league is 12.5. Surely that's worth a lay at 13? Easy money, but I can't be bothered to tie it up for a whole season.

Done my first bet of the season.

£2.50 on Spurs to win in FT, werder Bremen to win HT/FT, Hertha Berlin to win HT/FT, Nottingham to win Ht/FT, PSG to win HT/FT & Charlton to win HT/FT.

Get's me about £800. Sure thing I reckon. :boring:
