Fulham Vs Manchester United

Injuries are at the back. We've created nothing up top. Rooney flattering to deceive once more.

The front two we have rely on quality service. Absolutely none of that has come from Scholes, Anderson and Gibson. We're missing Fletch in central midfield.

The way we are playing, not just tonight, but the games this season so far, had me kinda convinced that we will not win the league. Out of 10 matches, 7~8 games had been dire. We just don't seems like a title winning team at all. i just can't see it.

We've not been spectacular this season, but we're still within a reasonable distance from the top, meaning that the rest having been breathtaking either. We haven't been lucky with injuries either, and if we're luckier in the second half of the season we have a good chance.

We're still second, and no matter how average we've looked most of the time can yuo really say Chelsea are as good as won it already?

Finding it funny how people on here spend the week slating Berbatov, calling him a waste of moneyt, a flop and so on.. and then start screaming his name when they realize he's not ALL to blame for United not cutting it this season!!

Still, he won't make a lick of differenece out there today though.. the whole team is underperforming and that midfield of Ando, Gibbo and Scholes is complete rubbish.

Fletcher isn't a player who adds THAT much to our creativity. Let's face it, Scholes and Anderson should be up to the task.

With Owen playing on the shoulder this should be Rooney's sort of game to drop off and influence the game.

Didn't we give thme a pasting without a winker last season too?

Maybe, he also did a decent run to score a winning goal at the Cottage about 2 years ago, the sort of magic we need today. I might as well bet on Scholes or Rooney being sent off it's that type of game.....

I am absolutely hating the "hoof it forward and hope for the best" approach that we seem to have adopted this season.

I have supported United for well over 24 years, through good times and bad and in that times i have always been proud of the quality attacking football we have produced.

Regardless of success its time SAF went back to basics and gets the team playing the style of football that made so many of us fall in love with the club in the first place.

The most worrying is that the only two players we have had inside the Fulham box is Owen and Rooney. No support from Anderson or Gibson, and theyre not getting in the box.

Well I've been banging his drum the whole time.

Problem which I've flagged all along is that he never gets a fecking run in the side. He'll get a shitty sub appearance today, probably won't score and then people will add another one to the appearance tally.

I agree with the fletcher comment. I think we should risk it and put fabio at right back and move fletch into the center, sacrifice scholes. Anderson has some drive and gibson can get a goal from outside the box at any time but I expect SAF to stick with it and change things when it's just too late. I'd put Obertan on as well but that might be a bit too risky.

He does by getting the ball back quickly, we can't be cretive whilst Fulham have the ball.

On a positive note, one of the more cringe worthy matchday threads in recent history.

You'd think we were fighting to stave off relegation.

Down 1-nil to fulham at the half!?! We've never come back from such a deficit against such a powerhouse club before...despair.

Your right of course but it is the way we are playing that is more worrying, we look clueless.Hope SAF can sort it out at HT

I know!! I was joking. I wonder if Gibson has been instructed to shoot from distance as often as possible. Would be good if he could just look up before taking the shot to see if there is a better option. I hope we go 442 cos I reckon we will perform a lot better.

352, 442, doesnt really matter just as long as we can get the ball out to evra and valencia abit more quickly.

I believe the tactic is to play it quick. And there's a good reason because the Fulham defence is well organised, the 2 CBs generally stays deep and the 2 full backs as well, and the rest of the Fulham team gets behind the ball very quickly when they lose posession.

But unfortunately, we're rushing the play - not playing it quick. There's just no composure when we play it forward. Evra and Valencia were virtual passengers because we're not looking to get the ball wide. Plus Owen who naturally stays in the periphery until he gets a sniff of goal. So it's basically 7 outfield players in the game... That obviously has got to change. I'd move Evra back to LCB, DeLaet to RCB and Fletcher alongside Scholes. Obertan on for Gibson.

We have no real width, the central players gets pressured and end up hoofing it away or in Gibson's case shooting it....

Berbatov is creative but he just doesn't show enough of it and he certainly won't against a fulham team who'll now close him down. He'll most likely slow down our attacks anyway. Much has to do with missing the drive of fletch in midfield and fletch wouldn't have given murphy enough time or space to even get that shot in.

We've created nothing mate. It's not down top Fletcher that we've been that abject. And yet Giggs and Berbatov are on the bench. If they're fit enough to be sat on the bench, they're fit enough to fecking play. That's yer creativity right there my man.

Take out Owen.. Put Obertan and Berbatov in anyhow..
Let them score one more.. and we score 2

Cant play much worse in the second half.

Need to wake up and find some form otherwise these points will be gone. Some very poor performances all around and very few bright sparks. The strikers are isolated and lacking service while the midfield is wasting possession at will. The defence and Kuszczak have done ok all things considered. Big improvement needed.

Cmon United!

Have to agree with that

We don't have any attacks nothing to slow down;)

Its not really about creativity. Although in a number of matches this season Fletcher has been our most creative central midfielder. Normally you'd think that would be Carrick but he hasnt been great has he. Hence I think we're missing Fletch in midfield more.

Regardless, my main reason for suggesting we're missing Fletch in midfield is in all his many good performances so far this season in central midfield he's been very good at keeping a hold of the ball and breaking down the opponents play before they can get going. Of our midfield options thats the kind of thing we could use right now. Someone with the bit between their teeth and leading us forward. He's simply been wasted in defence but we dont have many other options.
