Fulham Vs Manchester United

Absolutely.

Gibson is not fit to be a central mid fielder. He doesn't have the passing.Apart from the shooting he is as good as O'Shea in mid field.Does nothing at all.

Agreed, but the fact of the matter is that we don't have any other midfielders available. Once we get our defenders back, we can start to play our first choice midfield and send Gibson back to the bench (or reserves) where he belongs.

THIS IS HOW IT FEELS TO BE CITY

think our away supporters have been great...and their analysis is bang on the money.

I'm sick of this impression that Ferguson never makes a mistake. He fecked up in the CL final and fecked up today. It happens.

Fergie makes mistakes. But it's always all too easy to think a bad performance is caused by a bad selection, rather than admitting the players are or haven't been good enough.

we are going to get knocked out by milan too playing like this and even leeds in the fa cup... thats how bad we are playing....

alot of true colours being revealed. Twats

Id like to once commend our support there today. The only consistant thing about United today.

Alot of blind fecking sheep being shown up as well. The manager is just as much at fault as the players. He selected the side thats looked piss poor. He may have used what he had, but he could have done it better.

Could it be down to the fact that we're playing our first choice midfield (arguably) in defense?

Oh come on if you are going to say that Carrick and Fletcher are more creative than Scholes/Anderson/Gibson well your arguement doesnt hold very well.

Fair fecks to Fulham, if Hodgson was 10 years younger I think we'd have our replacement for SAF. He's a top top manager, even more so when you consider he's taken them into Europe, and into the knockout rounds.

Formation was shit but the players that played were utter turd tbh. There's no excuse for the performances of Anderson, Scholes, Rooney, Gibson and Owen who were all playing in their natural positions.

our fans should be refunded for this shocking performance.

and we can't even take a corner properly ffs, bloody joke...

fottball isnt that simple that you can say that if our defenders are out its clear that we are shit in defense while we should score nevertheless. In fact every change to the back four influences the whole game of a team. For example Evra hasnt got the freedom to go forward that much also the midfielders are logically more defensivley orientated.

Yes we played shit all over the park but the injuries play a big part in this. Of course you can debate if Owen or Berbatov should have started but i dont think that would have made much difference. Fulham is a good team and benefited from our injuries. I dont think SAF could have done much else and as the season is long he opted not to start Fabio. He will know how fit he is and will deal with it sensibly. Its not all over but as i said it will be decisive if we get our defenders back.

Carrick and Fletcher have offered a hell of a lot more going forward than other midfielders this season, so he has a point. Our record is far better with them in CM, what does that say?

Sorry to sya about the Fergie is not shit at tactics lot, but fergie without a good number 2 is shit at tactics, we need a number 2 maybe that italian bloke from gremio

I'm pretty sure I can hear a good dozen or so posters in this thread crying right now. Irrational spazzing out is all I see, and big tears splashing is all I hear.

You know what.

Just forget this day. It was a complete disaster of a performance. Injuries didnt help but there is no excuse for playing like that. Just hope we dont let this happen again because we were shite. I hope the players take a long hard look at themselves in the mirror because that was way below standard.

Time for them to start menstruating all over the main forum now.

Remember losing 5-0 to Chelsea? And a similar result against Saints.

It happens.

I'd be worried if it happened with a full strength side.

Could Fergie have picked a better, more balanced, more dangerous side today with the personnel in the travelling squad? Say:

PIG
Fabio-Carrick-De Laet-Evra
Valencia-Fletcher-Scholes/Anderson-Obertan
Berbatov-Rooney

?

The defense would still have got ripped apart, even more so at least Carrick/Fletcher have played with each other for a few games. Important we keep that partnership going imo.

I'ts upto Scholes/Anderson to lift their games to try and fill the void of Carrick/Fletcher in the middle. Which they failed to do. Berbatov has also been pretty bloody shit recently, carrying an injury or not.

Tough shit, we lost. Chin up, hope Vidic or Brown return and give us a bit more of a solid back four.

We just need to make sure we fight for as many points as we can get until our defense recovers.

Whatever the team we'd put out today, we'd have lost. Fulham were toying with us in the 2nd half fgs.

Well said mate. Wish some of the thick people on here got that.

Our title chances have just disappeared. What the feck do you expect?

Keep the heads up lads, bad day at the office move onto the next one. In FERGIE we trust!!!!! UNITED

granted the defence was weak, but the midfield and attack are hardly reserves and rooney was playing and yet we offered nothing going forward. :(

Hey..we have no god given right to win things. Supporting a club is about being there with them through thick and thin. I'm united through and through...sure sometimes they play shit....but so does every other team. We might not win the league, but united, having supported them since the early 70's have given me a blast over the last 15 or so.

United until I die...

So from reading this forum today, this performance means we're going to lose to Leeds in the cup, Milan in the Champions League and Chelsea have won the league. Nice to see you guys don't over-react.

So you would rather have them at MF and scholes/Anderson at CB? I really cant understand people here, when Carrick is in midfield many flame him because he doesnt get forward enough/control the midfield and now people want to big him up as the player he was before the inter away game last season? I will only agree that Fletcher should take his role in midfield to give us more protection/energy but hes not exactly the most creative player now is he?

Anyone that is simply going to put our lack of creativity down to Carrick and Fletcher being in defence is not a arguement in my books. Im not flaming the personal we have but the lack of creativity across the board - surely Carrick and Fletcher being in defence means our other midfielders have forgotten how to pass!
