Fulham vs Manchester United

Fair result, better than last season I guess. But very annoying. We'll be badly compared to Chelsea, but Fulham are no Wigan or WBA. Still poor performances from a number of players, especially Evans and O'Shea.

I dunno. I guess Evans and O'Shea will improve as the season goes on. And we'll know to start Nani in the future. But 4-4-2 with the personnel available is just not a runner away to a decent side.

Don't know what to feel after that.

Nani did come and change the game for us and it was a poor penalty but, can't put it all on him. That's his first miss for us - not sure what the commentators were about saying they've never seen him take a peno for us.

Ok now I know what I feel - very pissed off at those dropped points.

Well, we got a point from a fixture that has proven to be tough over the past couple of seasons. After the first 20 minutes it looked like we were going to come away with an easy 3 points, but credit to Fulham they came back into it and gave us a game.

Berba was unlucky early on or rather Stockdale made a couple of good saves that stopped us increasing our lead. Evans was piss poor today, really feel that SAF should have subbed him and given Smalling a chance, he couldn't do much worse than Evans.

But after the performance I am happy to come away with a point.

Ah well shit happens, always does at Carven cottage. I hate that ground, but hey its at least better than 3-0 of last season.

Can we finally get Rafael next weekend? His defending can't be worse than O'Shea's has been so far.

fecking drained after that. Really thought we had it when the penalty was awarded. Not sure why Nani took it..

Great game for everyone bar United supporters.

Draw was fair. Defending was shocking, Fulham dominated the midfield and they created better chances than we did. Disappointing to drop points already, especially considering Chelsea's results but other teams will struggle and drop points at Fulham as well.

Nani hasn't missed a peno for us yet - his penalties have been class every time till now. It happens time to time but, we were still up 2-1 and gave up another set piece goal.

Forget questioning why Nani took the penalty after the fact.

I wouldn't give that penalty for duff's hand ball, And for the football both the teams played, it was a fair result. Having let them run behind our midfield, a goal was inevitably coming.

As pointed out many times against the top side we play 451 though we always seem to struggle against Fulham so why do we play 442.
The game needed slowing down once we got it back to 1-2 so think we just threw away 2 points.

Hangeland man of the match....Really?

I know it's only the 2nd game of the season, but these are still results and performances you look back on towards the end of the season (just think Burnley last season).

When we got the penalty, you were thinking the game could be done at 3-1. Nani is usually good for us at penalties, but today just wasn't meant to be for him. When he missed the penalty, I just had a bad feeling.

To go from a potential 3-1 result to 2-2 in the space of a few minutes is pure shite TBH.

When berba receives ball with back to goal why does it take him nearly 5mins to turn and fecking shoot.

A few overreactions on here. We weren't that bad and fulham are a decent team at home. They'll give plenty of good sides a tough game at the cottage.

Yes but it's extremely frustrating to drop points after being a goal up and having a penalty with 5 mins to go. And our woeful defending on top of that makes it even worse.

This is the problem, we're already playing catch up to Chelsea and we're just 2 weeks into the season.

Bottled it completely today but we should not be too harsh on Nani, he was great when he came on.

Chelsea are expected to win their first 5 or 6 games and should. The last thing we needed was to be catching up already 2 games into the season (like last season).

Despite our record at their place in the last two seasons, 2-1 with a pen we should be closing the game out. Even after the missed pen, the fact that we invited pressure was quite shocking. When we took the ball and passed it across the midfield and got it out to the wings and put in crosses, we were dangerous. Not sure why we stopped after taking the lead both times.

I still think it will come down to the results between us and Chelsea though. We really need to stop being so slack though and be a bit more ruthless.

I don't know who to blame, I am just frustrated! Without either Rooney or Fletch we look half the team we actually are. This situation must be sorted. And O'Shea was awful today.

the entire defence was poor. Evra was the cause their first goal.Berbatov and Vidic got in each others way for the second.

Actually i thought it would end 1-1.

ah well.

True but overall i think the rest of the defence played worse than evra.

Evans was well crap today. Nani's penalty was uhmm well pathetic as well. Got as much as we deserved at the end of the day though ... fair play to Fulham. Bastards !
