Gamba Osaka vs Manchester United

Don't suppose you could make a new years resolution to stop posting drivel? Racist

Frustrating that Fosters injured! Surely Nani will start... surely!

Christ, I don't know how many times I've read on here 'that's racist'. It's a joke.

Anyway, Berbatov's out for the match tomorrow then:

"Berbatov is not well at the moment. Rooney was injured in training on Tuesday but we hope he will be fit."

Might be the first time we'll have seen the Tevez-Rooney partnership in a while.

Nah it's probably just a knock from what Sir Alex is saying.

If not then it's not like it's a problem playing a 4-3-3 with Giggs and Nani on the wings, could be Blackburn all over again.

Anyone skiving from work/college for this tomorrow?

Looks like I'm missing an English Lit lesson.

I'm actually quite looking forward to this now that SAF has talked it up a bit. I see no problem with fatigue either. Think about it: it is a nice mid winter break. The players will have been having a nice relaxing time. With all due respect, the standard of the opposition dictates that it will probably be a bit of a cake walk. Moreover, SAF is using the squad to its full extent, meaning that first teamers won't be playing the whole thing.

And, chances are that we'll be coming back with our main three rivals having dropped points.

---------------------- Kuszczak -------------------
Neville ---------- Evans ------ Vidic ---------- Evra
-------------- Scholes --------- Giggs -------------
Ronaldo -------------------------------------- Nani
--------------- Tévez -------- Rooney -------------

Subs: Amos; Rafael, O'Shea; Anderson, Park, Nani; Welbeck

Hmm, not sure whether leaving out Van der Sar, Ferdinand, Carrick and Fletcher (and Gibson) for the first game would be the best idea, but ah well (unless we can put more on the bench for this match, I really don't know lol).

But yeh, supposedly Neville, Giggs, Scholes and Ronaldo will all start, so as long as we're going 442 I'd expect something like that. Evra should play due to the Premier League ban, I'd probably like to see Ferdinand and Vidic start, but resting Rio for the first game might be a good idea if his back is still a bit of a problem.

There is the possibility of Giggs not playing such a midfield role and instead playing support striker or on the wing; but we all want to see Rooney and Tévez together again. This would be the way to leave out Nani (or Park) at first and play Fletcher or Carrick with Scholes in the middle. It's also possible that Fergie will play a 433, with Scholes, Giggs, and Fletcher/Carrick/Anderson in the middle, with Ronaldo, Rooney, and Tévez in attack (or Nani over one of them).

Gonna be up early for this one hopefully.

I've fecked off college for the morning.

Will watch this downstairs in a warm blanket, with a beer.

Sweet :D

A good chance to give Rio and Carrick a rest. Lets get some miles on the clock for Neville and Scholes.

Just to confirm, the match is on at 10.30 AM, not PM?

will follow this from work tomorrow, will the bbc have live text or will i have to check here?

I think Brwned and Count Duckula have signed up to the Minute by Minute for this game. That's the best option, no point following the match thread.

Geez.

I was worried that this match would cut into a possible meeting time with my senior project adviser tomorrow since a lot of our midweek matches are around noon here in California. Nope. It's at 2:30 in the morning here. I think I'll take a nap before and then wake up at 2:30 and then go back to sleep.

But yeah:

------------------Kuszczak----------------
Neville-------Evans-------Vidic---------Evra
Park-------Gibson----------Scholes-----Nani
-----------Tevez----------Rooney----------

If Rooney is healthy. Otherwise stick Anderson in midfield or maybe start Welbeck up front.

I thought that Sir Alex would have more youngsters in the squad, fair play to him for picking the squad he has.

Would be embarrasing if we don't win this cup.

United has thrice played in similar competitions.

Won 1 out of 3 times. Matches: 2 wins, 2 draws, 2 losses. Last time around, we did not get among the best four, even though we pulled out of the FA cup to participate.

In the last three years, Liverpool and Barcelona have managed to not win this cup, playing their best line-ups.

'Embarassing' is a ludicrous word. (Not more so than 'ludicrous', though).

This is on channel 5 - UK. 10.20am...

The first Utd match ever on five I think.

Already been posted

And no we had a champions league away leg qualifier a couple of years ago on 5

Ive never been to Japan, so is it true that everybody over there looks like they do in Japanese cartoons? And once you set foot in Japan, do you become Japanimated? Will this happen to our players?

Here's one I made earlier....
