Maybe the night king bypasses Winterfell, heads south, destroys KL and adds 20k soldiers to his troops and/or Jon and Dany's armies take a big hit in the first fight against the undead, head to Iron islands to regroup and launch a second assault that ends up being successful.

Fire is a weakness of the white walkers right, why has there been no mention (to my knowledge) whatsoever of using wildfire against them?
I'm just worried they'll botch the big fight against the white walkers in one episode and focus the rest of the shit throne shenanigans
There's no way we resolve the Night King stuff until the penultimate episode at least.
Wights, definitely are weak against fire but wasn't the Night King able to walk over dragon fire in episode 7 like it was nothing, same with the white walker Jon Snow killed at Hardhome which made him noticed in the eyes of the N.K ?
Fire doesn't kill white walkers... don't confuse with part of their army.

It's a weakness of wights. If you look back at 'The Door' episode Whitewalkers put of the Childrens' fires out and walked right through them.
Yes it could be used to kill wights though.

I imagine though dragon fire will hurt the walkers, hence why dragon glass can kill them too. It’s glass made by dragons fire.

Ow, no need to resort to abusive language.
I think they've been painting Arya as this ruthless killer / vengeance machine for so long that they needed this to remind us that there's still a girl inside her.
The whole Brienne part felt unnecessary to me though, it's not like this was respect for her at last. She's beaten the hound, won a turney, became a king's guard and she's commanding an army in the ultimate battle against the dead, the warriors of the story already saw her as an equal, Jaime even bowed to her and in some way it would've felt more authentic to me if she was fine the way she was.
I hope with Sapochnik doing a couple of episodes this season we'll have lots of battle stabby goodness and maybe a big wildfire explosion that leaves Yara as the last person standing.
And then after ten seconds of her just staring blankly, GRRM comes over behind her and slits her throat.
Tyrion used it in the battle of Blackwater and probably knows how to make it.

I liked both parts. I agree that the Arya scene showed that she was still a young woman event though she's a bad ass killer.
I thought that the Brienne knighting scene was good because it confirmed the respect that all the men around the fire hold her in. She's probably one of the two best fighters there along side Arya. One of the most honourable along side Aegon so why shouldn't she be a knight.

Terrible episode. There was zero point in 90% of the scenes, almost fell asleep. With 15mins left I made a joke that nothing's going to happen here, the white walkers horses will appear and then the credits will roll in.

2. Watched the latest episdoe but want to avoid speculation/trailers - these people should be able to openly discuss
3. Watched and want to discuss speculation/spoilers - these people should be able to discuss in spoilers tags

For the last 8 years, I've watched GoT but avoided spoilers/trailers/etc. But now, I can't participate in this thread anymore because it's impossible to know what I'm able to read or not.
The thread is ruined. It's almost impossible to discuss any episode without getting trailer/book speculation spoiling everything.
Can promise you it doesn’t happen. You’ll be pleasantly surprised I think.
So many exciting things to come. Next week is fecking incredible but this week was an excellent episode, reminding us all of the characters original traits and where they started.
