Gareth Bale is...The most expensive player ever?!

I agree to a point and he is similar to Valencia as he relies on pace but after beating his man his crossing is normally brilliant. I'd take a left sided Valencia any day of the week.

not for 30-40mill though to be fair. Valencia was 14mill in comparrison.

took his goal well infairness.

It isnt a player I can see SAF agree to pay 30-40mill for, especially as it isnt a priority as we have players to plug the gap. Plus the wages he'd demand aswell, if that is the reason Nani is being pushed out then going for Bale doesnt make sense to me.

Better players out there to suit us imo.

I doubt Spurs would actually want £40m for him. If we came in for him, then his head would probably be turned and he'd want to leave, which he's already shown signs of at times. As long as no other major clubs come in for him, I think Tottenham would eventually budge and settle for something like £25m, which is a fair price in today's markets.

He would suit us too. Fergie likes his direct wingers, but Bale does have more to his game than Valencia and would offer more of a goal threat too.

Yep problem being the British tax plus the hype has well inflated the price. But you do pay more for left siders and I suppose Bale is more proven than what Valencia was when we signed him.

On the previous page, you called him anonymous, but when he pops up with a goal and brings his team back into it, proving your previous statement wrong, you continue to nitpick. Can't you praise him for anything?

25m would be a fair price but Levy would want double and City would probably give them that.

They would but it would depend on whether they're interested or not I suppose. If they are, then it's a no go either way since they'll simply outbid us. If not though, and he's desperate to leave, Spurs would probably sell for around that price.

Then the sudden swaying of opinions in here would be absolutely hilarious too.

I think the "greedy" post was a result of Bale getting into a great position but shooting and wasting the chance rather that squaring it for a tap in.

He had every right to take that shot on. He'd done the full run and had a very good chance. If it was one of our players in a similar position he'd be praising them for taking an effort like that.

I don't agree with that and I'm no Bale basher. He should have been crossing that.

Cheesy for feck sake he had to square that to be fair. But i do agree about watching the opinions changing.

We wouldn't really, we'd be annoyed at him for not picking the better option. If how far he had run had any bearing on his decision it just further shows that he was motivated by greed.

Smirking at the end with Walcott after losing 5-2 to their biggest rivals. Great attitude.

What a pathetic criticism. Seriously?

Not really. If any of our players did that I'd call them out on it.

Imagine Rooney/Vidic sharing a laugh with Gerrard or Kompany after we got annihilated?

Your hatred of Gareth bale is a tad over the top. It's a bit sad too

I'm not talking about if you rate him or not. Football is all about opinions. But you appear to have real hate for him.

I almost want him here just to see what would happen with Lynk.

He's a great player, but there is too much fuzz about him. Look at this thread, it is booming over, yet in Walcott's thread it is about as silent as a grave, and Walcott played a much better game!

It's really just Lynk, isn't it?

Nope. Noticed it from quite a few posters. It's very weird. As though we're talking about a rival team's player or someone we have reason to be bitter towards.

I didn't mind Bale a season or two ago, but since that "Best Performance in the world EVER (tm)" against Inter, the hype has just been unbearable. And Bale at the moment is playing like he believes he is worthy of that hype, from the greedy runs to pinning his ears back and wearing flash boots/haircut. He's trying to turn himself into a Ronaldo-esque inside forward, when clearly it's not his game. And for someone who used to be a defender he offers feck all help to his full-backs, Walcott was tearing Spurs a new one in the first half, and with 10 men he did feck all to help.

I blame the managers more than Bale. 'Arry started the nonsense and Boas is continuing with it. Annoys me no end.

Redknapp thinks Bale is up there with Messi and Ronaldo. So it's a fair point.

How can you even compare the two performances? Walcott's team had an extra man.

I agree with all of that. I too think he's being misused and seems to think he's some complete attacker like Ronaldo whereas he should stick to being a wide player. However, the dislike has gone overboard here. He's not Carlos Tevez ffs.

He's on FIFA's shortlist for DEFENDER of the year. I despair.

Did Gareth Crooks create this?
