Gareth Bale is...The most expensive player ever?!

... Please go on.

There's little need to add more. Your team go out, Spurs go through, yet your sole, desperate concern is to try again to claim that Bale is over-rated ...

... just as you did when he scored twice in the first leg.

Bale is the best player in the world mate. Please never let him leave Spurs, at least don't let him come anywhere close to United, I don't think we deserve such a great player. :)

In the last two posts alone, Aldo has referred to just as many teams as 'we'.

How many teams do you support?

You'd think that with such versatile fidelity he'd be a bit less of a sore loser.

I don't take that term as seriously while using it as others seem to, I don't see why people bother to notice such a useless detail

Edit : How is that even related to this thread?

From the Castrol Edge Stats:

Gareth Bale is the only midfielder in Europe's top 5 leagues to have had 100+ shots this season (102)

Seems a lot, but as he's basically Spurs' only viable attacking outlet, it's not that surprising.

What I meant is he's probably a midfielder on paper or whatever, but playing alongside Dempsey and Adebayor this term, he's often employed as a free-roaming attacker. He's not even a real winger anymore. So I think the stat would be more interesting compared to other attackers.

Fair play to him - he's on good form at the moment. Glad we're not facing Spurs again this season. Hopefully he'll do the job against City.

that goal was shite to be fair. The passed to him, then let him shoot and he's sclaffed it into the corner. But I await Glaston telling us he's an artist and it was sheer genius from a god of football.

Anyone noticed he's trying to style his hair like his hero too now?

He wants to be Ronaldo so badly.

Some of his tweets about him are so cringeworthy.

Do you ever comment on anything else apart from Bale? Tedious to say the least. There's more to life.

On fire. Love that some people can't just accept the fact, he's actually quite good. This isn't 2011 or whatever where all the hype is based off one game...he's actually playing well consistently, helps that he has a more competent manager, and a couple of players in Dembele, Holtby(been good today) who are good with him.

I'd fecking love him on the left wing for us.

Imagine the devastation he'd cause in a United shirt when supported by the likes of Rooney and van Persie.

He's not playing left wing atm, and he's not really played it much recently when I've seen him play.

That would be brilliant, imagine our counter attacks

Not another one.

Tell me where, apart from left wing, Bale would get in to our starting XI?

Eh? I'm not saying he'd get anywhere else in the team, my point is that he's playing like this, namely getting these goals, largely because he has a freedom our wingers don't have.

Who are these people? Almost all in here have acknowledge him as good player.

In fact, the French commentators are comparing him to Juninho and the way he takes his free-kicks. This is a compliment indeed since Bale takes free kicks like Juninho i.e. either from long distance or from just outside the box with a curler. Couldn't get a better compliment than to be compared to the best ever free kick exponent.

It wasn't exactly a tap-in, he had quite a bit to do and many players would've fluffed it or seen their shot blocked. He did well.

The bitterness towards him on here is pretty funny.

It'll be interesting to see how attitudes would change if he does sign for us.

Like these attitudes towards Van Persie (sorry guys!):

Exceptional player...twat...rapist

he's very good. But also a cnut. And he has gay hair.

Good player with shite attitude.

I'm sure if we were to ask Pletch, Spoony and Kouroux what they thought of Van Persie's personality now, they'd revise the above.

I wonder what is so unlikeable about him:

I've said it once, and I'll say it again. The abuse Bale gets on this forum is hilarious and just plain RAWKish. So what he copies Ronaldo? Bale clearly respects/rates him enough to want to copy such a brilliant player. Is it Bale's fault he's getting all this hype from Redknapp and Co. that he's up there with Ronaldo and Messi? No. If anything in his interviews, he seems totally down to earth and just quashes those statements.

Bale's a top player, and I'd take him in a heart beat this Summer if we could get him for £45-50million maximum.

Well ignoring the argument on Bale for a second. Van Persie is clearly a different person at 29 than he was at 23 when those comments were made. Clearly a bit of rival bitterness but he did have a shite attitude 6 years ago.

ive just ensured his good run is over after today.

Ive bought him in Fantasy Football for the weekend so he surely wont score, he will most probably get booked and only get 1 point.

You can quote this

so are his fanboys who are trying to proclaim him world classed based on a little scoring run where his victims have been west brom, west ham and norwich city

He's also scored against United, Liverpool and Arsenal to so is hardly an awful player. He's not in the Champions League so he's not going to be scoring against the likes of Barca and Madrid, he's scored against City and Chelsea in the past to so it's not like he's a flat track bully (which your post is implying.)

I don't get the hatred some people have towards him, I don't think he's as good as people make out but I would say he's one of the premier leagues better players on current form. If he keeps it up on a consistent basis then I can't see him at Spurs much longer, he is the ideal signing for most big sides at the moment.

The fact someone also seemed to judge him on his twitter posts is a bit weird to. If we're REALLY doing that then I don't think Rio Ferdinand can be that highly rated.

The only thing he copies of Ronaldo is his stance. Apart from that, the way he hits the ball is exactly like Juninho hence the Juninho comparisons.

Well, after this we can compare his freekicks with Ronaldo's.
