Gareth Bale is...The most expensive player ever?!

A starting line up including Rooney, RvP and Bale would scare the shit out of anybody in Europe, id love him at United but I feel the signing of Zaha means he wont be coming this summer at least.

He's scored or assisted 21 goals in 18 matches since Christmas. He's been good all season, but brilliant in the second half.

Add Bale, Lewandowski and Wilshere to our squad and we would be right back up there with the best of the best.

Of course that would probably be 125m € for three players but the quality that would be added to our squad would be immense and with all players still having a good 10 years left in the game I think this would be a great investment.

Jesus feck. If we got those 3, I will happily throw my neck out there and say that's the best Summer transfers we have ever done.

We wouldn't just be up there, we would be the best by some fecking margain.

Van Persie and Lewandowski up front, Bale behind them. Wilshire next to Carrick.. A year more experienced Kagawa in there somewhere creating chances.

Shit.

I'd happily sell Rooney to fund that.

If we got two of them, I'd say the same. Bale and Lewandowski are more realistic targets than Wilshere though IMO. At least for the time being.

Bale has convinced me this season, and that is coming from a Bale-sceptic. Sign him up Fergie :-) No doubt he will cost a great deal though, but he will be a good replacement for Giggs, although they are hardly similar players. Swap deal with Young!

How about we get Messi, Ronaldo & Falcao instead? The way you put is it is like we can just go to the supermarket and just pick them off the shelf ;)

It will be hard as feck to even prise away one of these players. If anything, I think Citeh or the Chavs have more buying power than us.

We can't compete on buying power, we have to use our prestige as a selling point just like Bayern did with Gotze...

The likes of Lewandowski, Gundogan and Bale.. all have some sort of affinity with United at some stage in their childhoods. Bale for me in particular, Giggs and Ronaldo have to be some big inspirations in his style of play, not to mention he is one of the few crossers of a ball who can rival Becks.

He'd suit our club, I think if he goes to any other club he'd flop.

You're right although if we were like it is in Germany where we had no sugar daddy to compete with, we would be swooping for Bale no doubt in my mind.

But because both City and Chelsea are around, there are other clubs in the league who will pay more and pay a larger transfer fee. It's not as easy as it was for Bayern and Gotze.

Yeah because those players are as good as Ronnie and Messi.

I'm also not saying that it will be easy to get these players but when is it ever easy to get a player that is also valued highly by his own club?

Of course it's also unlikely that it would be possible to buy these players all within one summer but they should be main targets for if they are ready to move on, like Lewandowski this season.

Theres not a chance of Bale coming here to be honest as even if Spurs don't finish in the top 4 which they still have a great chance to....City will offer him way more in salary than we will offer.....So he won't be coming here

Giggsy will have a word with him. Nailed on to inherit the #11 shirt.

Van Persie?

I thinks it's been well documented that City put the breaks on the spending last summer while having no intention to do the same this summer....The fact that they had Dzeko, Aguerro, Balotelli and Tevez as forwards meant that signing another striker would always be complicated unless they off loaded one first.....Where as they don't exactly have a wealth of options on the wing coming into this summer...it's one area they will strengthen for sure....It's going to be like the Hazard transfer last summer..lot's of excitment on here until he went to a team that were willing to pay a lot more wages than us

He's a United fan isn't he? Even then, its not like we'll offer him 50k a week and City 200k, the wages will be similar. If Fergie wants Bale he'll go all out

On the contrary, I think it's well documented that he turned down City to join us, and then there's the fact he supposedly turned down the £250k per week from them. If Bale wants to come to us, and the fee is reasonable then he will. Wages won't be an issue I don't think, he seems a fairly clever footballer (turned us down to join Spurs for more game time).

Not all players value money so highly, and not all overlook aspects such as prestige of the club. And even if he is tempted by money more than anything else, he'll surely be advised that he'll potentially be able to earn a great deal more in sponsorship money at at United than City, so that would be taken into account.

If he's leaving Spurs, I'd say we are the favourites. Assuming Ferguson wants him.

At the end of the day if it is loads of money he values etc then he's not the right player for us. From what I've read about him, he doesn't seem like that sort of fella.. he's a very driven individual who wants to be the best.

Yeah, Bale will aim for the biggest club as opposed to the one offering the most money.

Reality cheque: Zidane warns Tottenham that not even £60m tag will stop Madrid moving for Gareth Bale

Zinedine Zidane has warned Spurs that even a monster £60million price tag will not stop Real Madrid opening the bidding for Gareth Bale this summer.

Zidane claimed Bale can be the difference between a big club winning the league or the Champions League.

The former World Player of the Year who is now Madrid's sporting director, said: "After the season he has just had - and still being so young of course - Gareth Bale is going to be one of the most expensive players in the world if he decides to move.

"Tottenham could command £40million, £50m, maybe even £60m for him. It is a lot of money - but there are maybe three or four teams in the world that can pay that sort of transfer fee - and it won't put them off.

"A player like Bale can be the difference between a big club winning the league or Champions League."

Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Juventus, PSG AC Milan, Manchester City and champions Manchester United are all interested in Bale - even if Spurs finish in the top four.

Spurs boss Andre Villas Boas insisted last week that the north Londoners were confident of keeping Bale who was crowned double Player of the Year by his fellow pros at the weekend after a season in which he has smashed a stunning 24 goals.

Tottenham chairman Daniel Levy also slapped a £45million valuation on his prize asset two weeks ago in a bid to ward off potential suitors.

But Zidane, who moved to Madrid from from Juventus for a world record £48million 12 years ago said:

"They would be getting the best player in Europe this season - and he is at an age where he can still play at the top for another ten years.

"What I like about him is that he has this electric pace - but also a big footballing brain to go with it. That is very rare."

Ridiculous, they offered RVP huge wages.

Nobody ever wants to sign for United. Only average players who all the other clubs don't want end up playing for us. It's sad but true. Oh ho ho.

Levy will stop it ever happening. He hates us. I can see Bale wanting to come here though.

For what it's worth, I think Bale cares a lot about his career and isn't motivated by money what so ever. He'll move to a club that's good for him, because he knows he has what it takes to be a long-lasting fantastic player.

Eventually, he'll be ours.

Anyone seen the Daily Fail. Couple of pundits have got Bale over the likes of Giggs and Best in their all time British XI.

Like he stopped Carrick and Berbatov?.

Levy doesn't hate us, he just hates his players leaving.

He charges as much as he can get, which is his job really.
