Lower part of the jaw, it’s the area boxers try to hit to rock their opponent for a reason.
Not saying it’s a boxers punch or anything but momentum is a factor as well. Look at UFC and some of their knockouts look weird and weak, it’s just force, precision all coming into play.
Not saying he didn’t go down easy but getting slapped in the jaw isn’t pleasant nor is everybody’s reaction the same when they do get slapped there.
Gary said it was his chest and simply never changed his mind when replays showed differently which has become a huge flaw of Gary’s

There are times where I think he gives extra digs to United players in the hope of sounding more impartial, but this was literally a historically poor result and he didn't say much I disagreed with during the game.

The only thing that could make this day of days worse is having to sit next to Carragher and Souness with the eyes of the nation on you. My heart goes out to him.

I do tend to agree and i find myself doing that as a fan and i think thats his problem. If Casemiro does a bad pass and Fabinho does the same bad pass, i'd be more critical of Casemiro because i care more about his passes and i watch him more closely. Its his job to try and be impartial but he's United through and through and in the heat of the moment, i think the fan side of him often takes over.

As time goes on, I start to believe more and more that he just plays the token part of United fan as it’s ingrained in his legacy. I don’t think he actually gives much of a shit these days. He likes to rant about us from atop his ivory tower but he rarely seems to show any real passion for us, certainly not in a positive way.

Did you see how he responded in the studio and his reaction to goals? Of course he's a fan, he's United through and through.

United fans are genuinely crazy . It was almost impossible to watch at the end for us and this guy is having to sit through this & then take shit from the scouse idiots. After all that our own fans keep shitting on him

Ten Hag often does end up saying similar to Neville who then gets castigated for it. He's an United fan who just saw his team get tanked 7-0 and he has to commentate it with the mouth-breather Carrager right next to him. Can't blame him for being fuming

Yeah, he always likes to criticise and rant about us. That’s his thing. And that’s literally his only thing where we’re concerned. We get feck all else from him.

Come on now, you can’t act like he didn’t pile it on the club when we were down.

This is where the disdain from certain fans comes from.

Although in fairness, I feel for him for having to sit there with Souness and Carragher.

He's responded really well on Sky imo, he's made some very good points. I agree with what he's saying, freak result albeit a shambolic one.

Yep, and Liverpool were nothing special as he said. They were up for it, clinical and everything fell just right, while we fell apart completely. But they did nothing amazing.

But it’s always gonna be a difficult one to argue, especially with a twat like Souness.

Yeah I agree, I don't get het up about what he says either way really. He's a United fan but he's also a media professional now, and he's doing what he needs to do to please Sky.
 
Poor Gary Neville having to put up with the hugely bias Carragher all through the game and then also having to put up with the even more bias Souness after the game, I cant believe Souness refused to accept that United were the better team in the first half even though anyone who watched it would say they were.
 
His coaching and punditry career suggest that football analysis isn't really one of his strong suits.

I honestly think Sky is trying be more like AFTV. That's why they have Keane. They want meltdowns and arguments rather than any actual analysis. Their youtube clips have more sensationalist titles than fan channels.

If he's positive, he's covering for his mates at the club. If he's negative, he's ungrateful and hates the club. He can't win when some of the sillier fans are mad.

He's been a really good pundit who has been better at explaining things than many other cliche-peddlers. But recently Sky has tried to go viral with silly arguments instead so their reactions are pretty brain dead now. They just use him to argue with Liverpool fans.
 
It’s the constant trying to make a United player look bad before any replay and really going all in on that moment. I don’t get it. It’s odd and he was at it before the capitulation. Fine, he’s hurting in the studio post-match, top red time again, but why be a total prick on commentary about our players?
