He's a very good centre mid.

Still an absolutely quality player but never gets enough praise for playing well, when on form he takes our team to another level.

Set up Ronaldo's goal, was involved in the link-up for Berbatov's, set up Ronaldo for the one-on-one he missed and one of our best players today IMO.

When given space he can rip teams to shreds as well as anyone in our team, besides Scholes.

Premier League Player of The Year 2008/2009 maybe?

Agreed! Good to see you back buddy.

His last few performances in central midfield have been breathtaking, like a new signing. Paul Scholes wont last forever as our playmaker in midfield but he'll last a lot longer sharing his position with Giggs and vice versa.

I love him, should be considered as first choice if fully fit imo.

He was brilliant at the end of the 05/06 season when he played in a similiar position.

He had a great game tonight, really did.You would have thought He was early 20's the way He was running the game from the centre making those runs and passes.Hope giggsy stays on for another year or more.

Quiet first 40 mins, but was very good afterwards. A winger who can also play so well in the middle must truly be a special player. I would be very glad if he signed that contract extension!

Actually, he did quite a lot of hard work during the first half - he kept tracking back and winning the ball.

Him and Carrick seems like a perfect match.

Turn of pace was great today, like rewinding the sky plus to the 90's haha. Played superbly, Giggs, what can you say really?

The man defys logic ,back on top form.Good job he didnt read the stuff posted on here last season or he would have retired.A legend

I reckon he might win the Player of the Year award as a sort of tribute from his fellow professionals, given that there's been no outstanding attacking player this season like Ronaldo, Torres, Henry etc. that would usually walk away with it.

He'd have media backing as well you can bet.

I just want to ask, all of them who had doubts and called United to stop playing Giggs, raise their hand up, i am pretty sure there was lot of slagging off ;ast season and early this season,

All those say sorry to Legend Giggs.

Absolute class player.

Awesome. His legend just keeps growing and growing. Its as if we've signed a young left footed central midfielder who can defend, attack, dribble, pass, passion and vision. Hes been a revelation this season and right now should be first choice along with Carrick. Well done Giggsy

Thought that myself, was excellent at doing the closing down that Scholesy does so well.

He can still force things in the middle a bit much, just like Anderson does at times, but they give us such an added threat when playing well in their creative passing and dribbling that it makes it worth the risk a lot of the time.

Scholes*-Carrick is still first choice for me though.

Might be a bit sentimental here but still.

He has played well this season and you can partially chalk that up to SAF using him wisely. He rested him on Saturday and he came back fresh today. You can almost bet that he won't play against Everton to keep him fresh and Scholes will play.

Give that man his contract immediately. He keeps performing at such a high level despite his age. We have done the right thing by picking and choosing the matches he play in because he is able to give displays like this. There is nothing more I can say about Ryan Giggs. Ive run out of superlatives. I will just say that im lucky to have seen his career. What a player!?

I lost count of the number of times Giggs won back possession for us. Simply superb. And fancy sprinting up and down the pitch like he does in your 30s. Unbelievable.

I think he is a great asset as a CM, simply because none of our other CMs seem to be as good as running with the ball. Combine that with his creativity and boom boom!

Not saying he is as good as Giggs, but Anderson is quite effective in this regards. Just doesn't have Giggsy's intelligence which is to be expected.

i'll admit it - i was a massive critic of Giggs over the last few seasons, felt he had lost 'it' and was a constant source of frustration - all flicks to no one and poor passes. Even this season i was always a bit annoyed seeing his name on the team sheet (yes, he is a United legend) though i think i was biased against him this season as I actually think he had been doing ok.

When the team sheet came out for the chelsea game I went freaking spastic on it - fletcher AND Giggs in midfield, no Carrick - I thought Fergie had lost it and that we were about to hand the title to Liverpool/Chelsea.

He wound back the years that day and put in a masterfull performance, and he has been freaking awesome since. Great running in midfield, great position, great reading of the game and great passing. He has simply been brilliant and a massive reason we have been digging out the results.

Proven me wrong, massively.

He's just a very good football player full stop.

He's a magnificent player full stop.

What makes it better is that he can excel in a position which is so unlike the position he played for the best part of 20 years.

most natural footballer player i've ever seen. at 17 giggs was a genius and he's been ever since. not surprising he dominates central midfield either and his added weapon of being able to run with the ball from midfield as well as being one of our three best precision tacklers of the ball make him a midfield weapon unlike any that we have. add to the fact that he's as natural of an athlete as they come, pretty much sums up his status as the god footballer. not to take anything away from scholes or any of our other lads but giggs is/was at a different level always. he was doing the biz in the old first division when all the other fledglings were cleaning boots. to me giggs personifies manchester united. the attitude, the class, the right mix of mercurial flair and intelligence, the showmanship, the desire, the success, the longevity, the ability to adapt to the requirements of the cause....when i think of all the characteristics that i love about united, giggs happens to embody all of them.

legend.

Fair play for admitting it, there were still quite a few going round at the start of this season that were just so critical of him it was unreal.

Name Changed was a massive critic of his earlier, even going as far as to count the number of times he misplaced passes against Villareal.

For shame.

Thing about Giggs this season is that he either is tremendous or just has a shocker. Lately it's been more of the former.

I wouldn't really think that he could do fine job in central midfield. He is really top class player.

Story of his career

Anyone who has had the pleasure of watching him live regularly should feel priviliged.

Finest sight I've ever seen in football.

And I've seen most of them the last 2 decades, From Romario to (Fat) Ronaldo to Zidane to Kristoffer Hestad.
