He wasn't even that bad today.
signing him last season wouldn't have been very smart I agree, but we use our eyes and watch matches and make decisions about players, and I think he's a good player doing the right things.FFS, We are Manchester United. If he's struggling with pressure at Spurs, just imagine dealing with the pressure at United. Thats why I didnt want us signing him last season, feared something like this would happen.
Yes, but we cant sign him if he's struggling for form and hope for some rehabilitation. Who is to say that he will ever have another season like last? He may go on to be a decent premiership striker that does a lot of good things, but that doesnt make one good enough for United.signing him last season wouldn't have been very smart I agree, but we use our eyes and watch matches and make decisions about players, and I think he's a good player doing the right things.
Young players form comes and goes, buying them at the top of their value isn't too smart, buying them at the bottom might be
Yeah, he's incredibly laborious and ponderous for a player so young. Don't really get this 'all-round play' lark either, he's just a bit big so he holds the ball up reasonably well, but he's often slowing the play down for Spurs. He's 22 but he's a bit like what Rooney has become in his latter years, except somehow even less prolific.
I didn't think he had that good a season last year thought a lot came off for him. I think he looks complete though, he's 22 and hasn't played that much so will improve a lot, brings a physical aspect to our game that we only get with fellaini etc. If you could get him for 25m I think it would be a good bet on someone who, if he can get back to confidence, could be one of the best in the league for 7-8 years. Paying 50m for him was ridiculous and wasn't ever going to happen. But now what you might have is a very talented player just a bit out of formYes, but we cant sign him if he's struggling for form and hope for some rehabilitation. Daniel Levy would never sell him for 25M. And we need to be focusing on improving our first 11 , in the form that he is, he really wouldnt. We still lack that bit of quality, and I am not sure about him, thats why this season should be the one where we decide whether to follow up on him. I like him as a player and think he is decent(But maybe not necessary for us), but I dont think your low price strategy would work.I didn't think he had that good a season last year thought a lot came off for him. if he's not getting in the team id say levy would part with him a bit easier.Daniel Levy would never sell him for 25M. A hat trick won't be enough to silence critics, he needs to go on a proper run.
Decided to put his scoring boots on with a hattrick today. Important season for him to silence the 'one season wonder' critics.
The one-season wonder critics are clueless knee-jerkers. Even when not scoring Kane has continued to contribute a lot to all-round play.
If those people had bothered to actually watch a couple of Tottenhams games they would have realised that his overall play has been very good all season. I'd take Kane over Rooney in a heartbeat.Decided to put his scoring boots on with a hattrick today. Important season for him to silence the 'one season wonder' critics.
I was one of those who last season said it was just a golden period for the lad but the way he has been performing these recent weeks and the goals he's scored I'm happy to admit I was badly wrong.
I'm another that is looking rather foolish..Class finish that was, perhaps should be England's no. 1I was one of those who last season said it was just a golden period for the lad but the way he has been performing these recent weeks and the goals he's scored I'm happy to admit I was badly wrong.
Sign him up in the summer, whatever the cost
You can't sign Kane if you have Martial. It would hinder Martials progress.
If it means Martial on the wings then NO. As much as I like him. But I think LVG will love him as the second striker. In that case, he will retire Rooney.
I think they can play together and take turns dropping deep like Rooney and Martial have done in the last two matches. He certainly isn't out of place dropping deep and linking up the play. Plus he offers that aerial threat and hold up play that Fellaini offers us along with a whole lot more on top of that.
No thanks. Would cost way too much, and we need Martial leading the line. Would rather invest in a proper wide forward/winger.
Bring back the old days and give 4-4-2 a shot or a more modern 4-2-2-2Marital is more talented then Kane. If we get Kane then we'd probably play Martial on the left (left of a front 3 could work brilliantly though). But then what do you do with Memphis? See if he develops as a right sided player? Or we just use a 4-4-2 type formation for most games with Kane and Martial up top, and in the tough games, switch to a 4-3-3 with Martial on a wing.
At first I thought we didn't need him at all but thinking about it, it makes sense. Martial can work well either as the lone man or with a partner, same with Kane. They can both take turns to drop deep and act as a 10, and in tough games, we switch to a 4-3-3 and put Martial on the wing as a wide forwrad where he's just as good as he is up top probably (just needs to improve his crossing really). We get 2 reliable goalscorers in the team and if one gets on a drought, we have the other, same if one gets injured.Bring back the old days and give 4-4-2 a shot or a more modern 4-2-2-2
De Gea
Darmien - Smalling - Blind - Shaw
Lingard/Mata - Schneiderlin - Schweinstiger - Flipe Anderson
Kane - Martial
