Harry Kane - 2015/16 performances

Seriously, you are probably the only user on here who can turn a post defending one of your players into a display of your own smugness. What exactly is wrong with that post? You hardly had a convincing season start. By the time I made the post, you lost the dire affair against United, played one hell of a borefest against Everton (0:0), drew vs. Leicester (who by that time did not pick up their momentum) and Stoke and had a pretty unconvincing late goal win vs. Sunderland. Kane WAS clearly struggling (evident by the fact that it was not until two weeks after my post that he scored his first league goal), being left on his own most of the time and Eriksen was either poor or injured at the start of the season.

Of course in hindsight, the latter did not turn out to be your only creative midfielder as Alli underwent a huge development jump in that season, but at the point of time of the post (day of the Sunderland game), the boy had exactly one start (that game) and his perfomances up till then were not that good that you could have predicted the season performance out of him. His talent was evident, but such a season at this age is still rare and thus hard to predict no matter how talented the player is.

Good luck reasoning with him. Today he's the bully.

All not without merit, but ... your original post still falls in the same vein (similar to that involving those who dismissed Kane as a one-season wonder) of premature dismissal based on a handful of games.

A bit like, may I say, those Dortmund fans who prematurely imagine that beating Spurs B team indicates anything of value concerning Dortmund's best XI vs Spurs best XI ;) Let's hope we meet again in the CL next season ... and then you'll see the real Spurs turn up.

Suoerb player. Wonder how long he will stay there.

Really felt sorry for him when I saw that. Must have been heartbreaking when Chelsea equalised.

Anyway, he's a fantastic player, and I'm sure he'll win the EPL one day.

Deserves to play for a bigger club.

Felt a bit sorry for him. He deserves a PL medal.

@prarek: "... Spurs are pretty shit at creating chances. Last season Kane did extremely well to get that many goals but he won't hit that figure again, not with this support behind him."

Tbf it was more a criticism of Spurs midfield last season and they are much better this season. @Sphaero 's post was also saying the same thing basically. That they need to improve their support for Kane.

Absolute superstar in the making.

Probably my favourite player right now.

Anyone else get the feeling he thinks he's Ronaldo? Embarrassing performance, incredibly selfish & minimal impact on the game. How he lasted the full 90 only Roy will know.

I thought he was quite isolated at times to be honest. Some times when the ball was hit up to him, he took it down but didn't have many options.
On the other hand, there was a few times when the ball was out wide and he wasn't even in or near the box.

I don't think it helps that as an aerial threat he was on corners and quite a lot of the balls we put in where whipped on the ground rather in the air

Not involved at all, although I don't think it helps the two wide men are Sterling and Lallana.

Sterling is pace no end product, and Lallana has nice footwork but that's about it.

Should be playing 442 with Vardy and Kane upfront.

If Rooney played up top like Kane did today, he would've gotten ripped apart in here. What an underwhelming performance.

Sturridge is still the best English striker. Shame he's made of glass, but should be starting when he's fit.

Absolutely rotten tonight. His selfishness is quite annoying too. Borderlines Coutinho standards.

Taking the "bale" career path. With each passing day he is starting to play more and more like Ronaldo?
