Haaland is unmoveable at the moment and is also the highest paid player in the world. Thats a mammoth task.

Kane gives them a short term option that helps them continue to challenge right away while also leaving the option open in the near future for a Mbappe or Haaland when it's more feasible/realistic.

Really works out for everyone, Levy included.
 
If I was Kane, I'd go to Madrid. What an opportunity. Perfect deal for all involved, gives RM 3 years of a top top player who's very intelligent and versatile, while they put together the cash for a big Mbappe/Haaland move when those two are looking for a new challenge.

Think there's rumors from players that I saw he's open to joining United.

I know we haven't been the United of old but since SAF retired we've also won 4 trophies vs Spurs 0 and on top of that lost 3 finals vs Spurs 1. That's a cumulative 7 finals vs 1.

It's a massive improvement for Kane to join United and any pro footballer will see the improvement we've made w ETH and be excited by it.

I think the biggest red flag for Kane might be the Glazers.

Get Hojlund and make him our own Kane. I trust ETH to help him stepping up fast.
 
This relieves United from the headache of dealing with Levy all summer.
 
I think personality is a huge thing and someone that stays at spurs until it’s almost too late could potentially not be the guy for us. His record there and with England is no metric of doing it with us. Infact most pundits are saying they can see him staying which is insane and just doesn’t lend itself to the ambition and drive needed at United.
 
I always thought Kane wanted to stay in the prem. it’s annoying because we’ll get charged a lot more then Madrid will just because he’s in the same league. Sometimes it’s bad for English players that go abroad unless you’re young. He’s old so he’ll have to adapt to a new league quickly as they’ll be expecting 30+ goals from him.

well of course they’re going to say that, when Benzema just announced he’s leaving. Madrid may well want Kane, but that doesn’t mean much if Kane himself wants to stay in England.
 
Yeah, it was obvious when I heard the Benzema news. It's a shame because Kane would be excellent for us if we had a realistic way of getting him.

Finishing 8 points above 5th isn't scraping

If Real Madrid draw or lose today and Atletico wins Real would finish in the same place we finished this year. Real Madrid could finish between 11-14 points off 1st. We finished 14. We both won league cup. Real don't feel that much more ready made than us if we are going off this season. We also did it with no CF (6 goals in all comps). Madrid at least had one that scored 30 goals

Also over our last two matches against Citeh the aggregate was 3-3. Real Madrid's 2 legs against Citeh in the CL semi it was 5-1 Citeh

In recent seasons we’ve seen Ronaldo, Zalatan, Benzema and Lewandowski scoring 17-18 league goals or more in mid or late thirties at highest level. If Kane has any sense he’d be looking at that and thinking he can still get that record after 4 years at Madrid.

I'm not saying he can't do it, I'm saying it wouldn't be easy, it would in fact be very hard and it's much more likely than not that he would fail. So, if it is important to him, he would be foolish to assume he we will surely be one of the very few whose bodies prove capable of it.
 
I think an issue could be that while Kane prefers England, his desire might not be as strong as Levy's is to avoid selling within the PL. Kane would probably not take so much convincing by a club of Real Madrid's dimensions.

Whereas I think we'd have to do (or pay) a heck of a lot to persuade Levy, something people continually underestimate when they talk about Levy cash grabbing and being a businessman so therefore he'll panic because Harry's got a year left. Not a chance.

I think if this ever got to a free transfer we'd have had a great chance, but the transfer looks very difficult. Which in all honesty I don't think is such a bad thing for us. I hope it might focus our mind early in the window for alternatives and getting on with strengthening the wider squad, something that will be frustrated by a summer long Kane negotiation.

We payed 100 mil for a winger who is not even a game changer.
Paying 130 mil for a main man and manager's no1 priority isn't impossible as it seems. Especially if we get an new owner. New owner will want to put his mark in first transfer window.

By the way, I missed the point when people started thinking, that Kane had great 22/23 season. What exactly did he do in CL? What did he do at World Cup? Or virtually anywhere outside of random league games?
From my POV there's actually a very good chance he flops in Spain/United. I mean, obviously he will score against average league opponent, but I think the expectations at fecking Real Madrid are a bit higher?

Because he wants the record. He’s talked about getting the record. He has said he’d be disappointed in himself if he doesn’t get the record.
It’s all there. It’s not as if he has suddenly changed his mind based on a report that Madrid wants him. If we’re believing reports then he’s already turned down Bayern and PSG because he wants to stay in England.
Until there’s a brief from his camp that he’s changed his mind then I can’t see the point of diminishing his desire for a record that he’s repeatedly stated is important to him
 
He'd be crazy to turn down Real for any of these reasons.

Someone like Shearer's legacy goes far beyond than the scoring record. Kane has a chance of doing that if he moves too.

Not to mention he'll still be welcomed with open arms back to the league in a couple of years if he chooses to return and take a hack at it.
 
Think Real Madrid will settle for Havertz and then go for Kane next season or in the winter transfer window. Hard to see Kane leaving London with his kids and when he is on the verge of breaking Sherera record.
 
If Real Madrid are interested then at least this should move things along quicker. They aren't going to be hanging around all summer, it either gets done relatively soon or they move on.

For me, he's miles clear of any other option for us but the worst thing we can do is let it drag on and end up starting the season still without a CF.

Well, he stayed at Spurs regardless of how shite they've become. They let him statpad his goals this season though. So if that's not caring about personal achievement, I don't know what is.

By most accounts he pushed for a move to Man City a few summers ago and went on a mini-strike that he was slated for in the English press for the first time in his career.

It's Spurs who flat out refused to sell even in the face of massive money.
