Harry Kane | Bayern Munich player

Let’s be fair, having just done the inverse switch, London shits over Munich in almost every aspect. Munich is the impersonification of boredom, and all Germans do is go for long walks.

Dunno about the weather, it rains a lot albeit not as much as in London. But it also gets -5 and worse for a large part of winter.

The absolute definition of a miles better winter. As a Brit living in Sweden, I’m in a good position to confirm that a wet, grey British winter is the worst kind of winter on the planet.
A dry -8 and much more sunshine is a beautiful Winter.

We never were in for him. We made the decision to go for Hojlund a while ago and sticked with it. Kane was never a possibility, same as Mbappe. We briefed this as well.

Some on here would get their pants wet if we would go for Ronaldo again.

Yea, that sounds more reasonable than a lot of posts I've read since sky said it was "50/50" if he would stay or go.

Well, if I had a choice, Germany would be one of the last in the biggest countries in Europe I would like to live in. They are no fun, they don’t know how to live, unlike the Spanish and Italian people.
Don’t takeme wrong. I visited Germany few times. And I enjoyed it. It’s nice. It’s clean. There is a lot of interesting stuff in most cities Inhave been in. But it’s not really fun.

Aye, the city with the World’s biggest beer festival has no idea of fun

I’m been to Munich a few times, and Berlin, and always had shit loads of fun, so maybe you should be looking at yourself if you haven’t rather than the Germans.

He's got himself a prestigious club to play for where he can challenge himself with something new, fair play to him.

Yes the German League isn't anything to shout about, unless you happen to beat Bayern to the title, but it's not quite the French or Scottish leagues.

Let's face it, Kane's only option of staying in the premier league was by staying at Spurs. There was no offer from Spain or Italy, and Bayern are offering a lucrative contract. He could have stayed with Spurs till next summer, but that's always risky, what if he had an injury that kept him out for a significant period towards the end of the season? There's also a chance no one in England would be interested in an expensive deal for a 31 year old given free transfers just mean you pay the transfer fee to the player instead. City don't need him, he might not have wanted to go Chelsea or Arsenal, and maybe we've let him know we're planning a different course after years of taking strikers at the tail end of their careers, or adopting a system that he doesn't suit.

TLDR; it was a choice between Bayern and possibly finishing his career at Spurs. He's right to take what's in front of him now.
Finish his career at Spurs? He had 1 year left he would have gone to another English club given the chance - us.

Having lived in Munich for a while and visited England frequently, no English City compares to Munich, not even close. It's safer, cleaner, has better weather than London, perfect for a man with young kids. Also helps it is not full of bratty wankers.

If you have money, it's bot boring at all, like any other big city.

He's the greatest striker they've had, and gives his entire career to the club, signs a long term contract fecking himself in the process. He turns down City, United, and all chances at silverware in this duration. When he eventually leaves at 30 with a year left, he leaves for non-domestic rivals with a 100m transfer fee by uncharacteristically dragging out Bayern through a saga at Levy's bidding. He does this at the cost of inconveniencing his own bedding into a new team, and having to move his pregnant wife and very young familty to a new country at short notice.

And this is his legacy at the club (Fighting Cock over the last 24 hours itself)

How can you tell me he's not a fool.

This is ridiculous. He spent his entire career there and gave them his best years. He is their all time leading goalscorer. Without him they would have been midtable quality for the last half decade or so. That’s really appalling from those fans.

Stupidest footballer. He simply wasted all these years in Spurs by signing the last contract and the one thing(highest PL goal scorer) which will make him a legend of his country for next few decades he is going to miss by not waiting for one more year.
He should have simply said to levy that he either transfers to one of top 4 clubs in England this summer or he will leave to them in a free next summer.
100% agree. Wasted his whole career at spurs and in the premier league for absolutely nothing. With Ten hag being in charge he should have seen the light that we are now very capable of winning silverware going forward. He could have got both the trophies and the record which would have made him the goat striker in England plus a huge signing on fee next year on top of his massive salary. The dumbest top player I have ever seen.

Congratulations to Kane, I am genuinely happy for him. He's finally escapes Spurs and is playing for a club suited to his ability, plus he won't be criticised every week for the way he speaks by the illiterate British public.

I’ve been living in Munich for quite some time, it’s a nice, clean and well organised city (minus the road/construction works; but you see these in many big cities). It has also a big city park („The English Garden“)

It’s not too far away from the Alpes, some nice lakes are also nearby such as Tegernsee, Starnberger See or Ammersee. At the end of the day it‘s personal preferences that play a major role, if you like a city or not. However, in terms of vacation, lifestyle etc., I‘d also prefer cities like Rome, Barcelona, Paris or London - especially Barcelona with its great beaches, tapas culture etc.

The southern mentality is just more chilled. But once again, these are just personal preferences ;-)

In terms of football, Bayern is a huge and well-run club.

Ditto.

Doesn’t mean it’s not a lovely city to live in, which is the only point here.

I’d prefer to live in Sydney over all of the above mentioned, which isn’t a slight against any of them. Barcelona would actually be very low on my list, Valencia much better.

He reminds me of Matt Damon from Good Will Hunting, working away in his construction hat. Sure, you do what makes you happy, but you cannot argue two things - one, people would kill to have that kind of skill to fulfill their ambitions, and two - he has truly wasted his entire career with nothing to show for it.

He could have stayed at Spurs his entire career, but he is NOT a one club man.
He could have pulled his club through single handedly in clutch games, but he did NOT win anything with Spurs even at their best.
Similarly, he could have led England through to some memorable silverware, but again he has NOT won anything with England even with brilliant players around him.
He could have moved to any other PL club, but he will NOT be the PL's top scorer.
He could have taken the money route out, but he tied himseld down to a sub-par long term contract, and did NOT monetize his skills.
He will NOT be the reason Bayern win anything, even if they do their usual Bundesliga round up. Just a passenger.

He is essentially a nothing man who had a lot of potential and chose not to do anything with it, hated and abused by his own boyhood club's fans if Fighting Cock is anything to go by. Good to watch if you turn the TV on once in a while, and that's about it.

He could have joined City if he'd forced it, and won their first treble. He could have joined United under ETH or Chelsea under Poch if he wanted to, again, but chose the easiest route out with Bayern. He has essentially wasted away his prime years at the whim of an egotistical billionaire who player him like a fiddle. Levy did right by his own right - Kane let him. Good for him if it made him happy, but it'll be a user study on how NOT to spend your career.

Given all this, I think both Chelsea and United fans should be glad they did not spend a fortune on signing a player who has no mettle or ambition around him, even with the numbers. What a tragic disappointment of a career.

Dear Diary,
Harry went with that other girl. He's so stupid. I never liked him anyway.

He already knew whatever he scored in league and create a record that cyborg haaland will smash it in next few years. . He decided to screw that record and try to win champions league with Bayern.Fair play to him. To be honest with him Bayern become one of the favourites to win cl if not already.

I wonder if he has gotten any sleep until now. I can't see him playing tonight, seems like pure lunacy.
A short cameo appearance might be possible if Bayern are winning but would seem completely unnecessary. Kane is the type of character that would want to play and get his first trophy though.

The hate for him here is hilarious. Such sad people on this forum

Munich is flipping brilliant, love it here. There are some things that grind my gears, but relates more to visa issues for my family since we aren't nationalized Germans yet.

The city is safe, clean, beautiful and on the doorstep of the Alpes and lakes. English isn't a major issue since there is a growing expat community here so more and more stores, restaurants and services speak a bit of English. I've been here 4 years and don't speak any German, my wife has basic German, and we get by fine (some issues here and there).

Intelligence in a footballer seems directly correlated to a move to United, from what I gather here. Incredible coincidence.

Love seeing English players do well abroad -

Bellingham, Edwards, Sancho, Smalling, Tomori, Abraham first Roma season etc and hopefully now Kane.

This is a load of bollix when it comes to munich. The whole place speaks english. Been there about 11 or 12 times for munich games from ireland. never have had an issue. Berlin or others may be like that . Munich is not. Most germans speak english anyway. Wont be an issue

Living there or going there for games is very different. I’ve lived there. But you are entitled to your opinion.

What was the point of that video? Not even a pun in it.
Thomas Müller took care of that, of course. He welcomed Kane to the club hours before the official announcement with a bit about how healthy pekane nuts are.

Will be sad to see him leave the Premier League as he has become synonymous with the league since he burst on to the scene.

Levy has shafted him and given him no other choice, but to go to Germany. He must be an awful person to work for.

However he is going to Bayern who are a giant club and he will challenge for pretty much everything. I don't know why people here are so dismissive of them and saying the only way he could properly achieve something is to go to United?

United are looking better, but haven't exactly pulled up any trees recently. He could have moved there and not won anything till the end of his career. The only guarantee in the Prem at the moment is City who are miles ahead of everyone and that ship sailed for him.
