Harry Kane | Bayern Munich player

Still can’t believe he didn’t wait until next season.
And can’t believe Bayern paid that to buyout a one year contract.

Remember when he signed that stupid six year contract then wanted to leave Spurs but Levy wouldn't sell him?

Charlie Kane remembers

Who cares about a record that Haaland will probably break in a few years anyway? Footballers are above all else remembered for trophies.
Alan Shearer is remembered more for that record than for his championship with Blackburn. Kane will not be remembered for a couple of league titles in a one-team league. And there's every chance Haaland won't stay in the Premier League long enough to have a chance to break the record.

So what's the German for "we press, we aggressive, fecking chances, goals, and we fecking kill ’em man, we fecking qualify today lads, we fecking qualify"?

Pretty sure there's already a word in German for that

Nobrainer for Kane, bit wild for Bayern. A lot of money for an old albeit great striker. Relying on a Spurs player to push you through the late stages of the CL, bold move.

He'll have better longevity in the BuLi. His minutes can be managed and keep him fresh and firing for knockout games

Well maybe if Kane wins CL with Bayern scoring 40-50 goals he could win a Ballon D’or too. And he will be remembered as Ballon D’or winner. That would become even better than Shearer’s “since 92” record.
That wasn’t the point I was responding too so your hypothetical scenario is irrelevant if not untrue.

It doesnt take much to know Bayern isnt all that anymore and Bundesliga is crap.
By what measure is Bayern not all that anymore?
They went 6/6 in a group with Inter/Bayern and then lost to City in the quarters whilst having Choupo-Moting up front. The season before they got knocked out by Villarreal in one of the all time freaks.
It’s incredibly naive/ignorance to think that Bayern aren’t still a truly elite side. They’re better than any English side bar City.

Apparently he might be in the squad for the DFL Super Cup this evening meaning he probably wins more in one day than he has ever won at spurs

That Bayern home top is horrible! Why did they move away from red?

Kane already is already England's all time top goalscorer. If he retired tomorrow that's a better record to have than Kane's "top goalscorer since 1993", despite what Sky TV want you to think.

I'm not sure he'll care to much what people think, probably cares to look back on his career and see some medals in his cabinet, I get that it's the German league and whatever but there is absolutely no guarantee he could move to a club in this country and win while Pep remains at City, he is already top England scorer and top Spurs scorer and now he'll likely get a few medals to thats a hell of a career to have despite what a few naysayers on the Internet might care to think.

I actually think the move at this stage will be really good for him, probably prolong his career and be better for England barring a major injury of course.

Surprised he went there. Really thought he wanted that record and he could have chosen any English club bar City and killed a cash cow next year. A bit sad to lose another great Premier League player, not been the best summer in that regard.

If there's one thing I've learned from this forum is that people seem to think that a record from 1992 (not all english football) is important. I don't think so, and cleary he doesn't either. Last post so see you after midnight :)

'Die winterpause' will help with his longevity for sure. A luxury for football players to recharge. He'll play until he's 36 I reckon. 4-5, maybe even 6 bundesliga titles isn't out of the question for him.

The reason why they signed Kane, which is untypical of Bayern to splash lots of money on an aging player is because they themselves know they're not the top dog anymore.

Do you forget about this? they almost lost the one horse race.

It’s hypothetical but possible. If he stay in Spur or play for other English club not named City, it’s nearly impossible.

Yes they had a poor season for them.

So they went and signed one of the best strikers in the world, one of the best defenders in the world and 2 excellent players in Laimer and Guerreiro.

great move for him, no point waiting a year for a Prem move when winning Prems or competing for CL’s isn’t going to happen with anyone but City

With question marks still on their new manager. So they're far from an elite team, more like a team that is starting to do their rebuild. Now if after Lewa left they added those players imediately then yes, they are still a top team now. People think as if everything in football is instant. One year is a long time in football. They will win Bundesliga with Kane. But let's not use that league as a measurement. I doubt they'll win CL.

Great move for Kane. He'll be there over next 4-5 years and (most probably) still in his prime/at high level so do think Bayern are going to win CL in that period.

Dortmund fans must hate their own club. Last season was the best chance for them to win Bundesliga and they bottled it. Well they ain't winning it now for sure.

In a league with such poor quality strikers, what do we reckon Kane gets? I'll be surprised if he doesn't reach at least 30 which would probably be a 15+ goal gap to the next top scorer.

That Bayern home top is horrible! Why did they move away from red?

Sell more shirts, €150 for the authentic version. So much for the club of the workers?

At least beer in Munich is still pretty reasonable!

Wonder if he will still drop deep like he has done for last few years or if they will want him pushed on like a more traditional striker?

Sort of glad we didn't go in for an extremely high fee.
But knowing us we'll buy him for 90m in 3 years.

Just no. City are better. Bayern are overrated by a lot on here.

To be fair you'd have no idea right now. It's all speculative on both sides.

When I look at their squad and then consider adding Kim Min Jae, Harry Kane, Laimer and Guerreiro. I reckon it will be up there personally.

We will see.

Jesus the bitterness and arrogance of some

Shearer's record, which isn't even the real record, should be more important to Kane than actual trophies. Sure thing, makes perfect sense.

My guess is Bayern will enjoy him getting some good numbers in the Bundesliga for 2-3 years before he significantly declines.

I'm not convinced Kane will do much in the CL though, though obviously he now has a better team around him so maybe we'll see him flourish.

I think Kane has another 4-5 seasons of strong goalscoring. The guy guy has proven to be more fit than Victor Osimhen and is what, 5 years older?

He should have stayed til January when they’d probably have taken 50 million for him. I wouldnt have minded us paying that so we have him and Hojlund gets more time to develop.

fair play, he’ll win trophies at Bayern but they will be a bit hollow

So what stage is the caf at atm? Moved from "he'll never join us" to "we can hijack it" to "he's not even good enough for us, we should play Hojlund" yet?
I personally think this is a game changer for Bayern. Kane will help elevate them to a whole new level. He’ll be the big difference in them winning their 32nd league title in a row.

If they aren't an elite team then I assume the only elite team in the world right now is Manchester City? Who else is better equipped than Bayern to win the CL?

Well done Harry.

It was the right move to make, I wondered if he would have the balls to move country…so respect to him.

Will be good to watch in the CL in a few weeks.
