You may not like it but records in the premier league matter and gets mentioned all the time not just by the media and pundits but by everyone. Inception of the premier league was significant because that’s where it all started to grow and that’s what put the PL became on the world map and it became a global juggernaut and that’s why the records in the PL era matter. I thought you of all the people would be grateful for that as your little wee club only became relevant in the premier league era.

You keep on repeating that to yourself but there’s a reason how many pl trophies, how many pl goals, the best overseas player, the best striker, the best goalkeeper etc all these discussions take place on a daily basis even on this forum because the records in the premier league are significant.
None was 30 years old. Bayern usually signs players that have resale value. They sold Lewa for €45m.
He has guaranteed himself trophies. While most of us may say the Bundesliga is pointless, he may not see it like that. If he spends 4 years with Bayern he will likely win 4 league titles and a couple of cups. He will also be in with a shout of winning the Champions League in that period. I admit the move might seem unambitious, which is strange really considering it is Bayern Munich he is joining and not some lesser club.

And if that type of record actually mattered people wouldn't be talking about Kane. There is nearly two dozen of footballers between him and Greaves with most of them being complete unknown to most people, myself included.

They're significant to you because that's what Sky and the Premier League promote. Obviously they aren't going to talk about Jimmy Greaves because most people were not born when he was banging in the goals and there's no sexy footage, just grainy black and white crap.
If you want to only give a shit about 1992 onwards then that's up to you. As you say, if football started in 1992 then my club becomes far more successful (relatively) but I think that's a ridiculous way to look at the things.

How many balls do you need to join a club in a good city that has top notch education for your children while not ruining your relationship with ex club and a guaranteed league trophy + CL spot every year?

I have nothing but respect for Bayern Munich but after 11 titles on the trot, most without much excitement, Bundesliga is the definition a one-team league
As much as I loved those games against Barcelona, they still beat Real Madrid in the league by 10 points. They're a very strong team and they've added Gundogan to an already very strong midfield. They have Lewandowski up front, extremely talented youngsters in numerous positions, and had probably the best goalkeeper in the world last season.
Realistically the first XI is stronger than Utd atm. RB, rw, striker and possibly cm depending on how Mount does are still weaknesses for us. I think lb is a big weakness for Barcelona but outside of that they're very strong all across the pitch and tbf young Balde looks very talented so maybe lb won't actually be a problem. Massive fan of Araujo and Kounde's also great. Christensen's a good cb but he's probably the other potential weakness in their XI if you had to choose one. FDJ, Gundogan and Pedri is a really strong midfield 3, and Gavi, Torres, Raphinha and maybe Fati if he can get back to his pre-injury levels are good options to support one of the best strikers in the world.
The irony of that statement, which you've missed - naturally, is of course that Lewa was sold when he was 33 years old and Kane is a 30 year old, who just signed a 4 year contract, meaning he'll be up for sale when he's 33 with 12 months on his contract, precisely like Lewandowski.
To be fair, after carrying Spurs for so long I dont think anyone can begrudge him going for a comfortable move such as this to, finally, stack up on some honours/medals.
In my humble opinion, this is another mistake by Kane. His agent is his brother... well, that's why you should never hire family members. This move was the best for Spurs, but not for himself. An all-time record is important, and next year he'd get a huge sign-on fee for himself. Now he will miss both. Yeah, he will win a trophy or two, but who cares? Anyway, good luck to him.

I'm an Arsenal fan and even I think this is a wild take.
Bayern are one of the favourites for the CL every year. Their last win was only three years ago.
The issue with that is that you call Arsenal elite. Arsenal. Who achieved feck all last season. They won nothing. They finished second in the league with a points total that's almost never enough to win the league these days. They failed in all cups. They were bitchslapped by City home and away.
It's fine to say they are a promising young side with potential. But you said elite. On what evidence are they better than Bayern? Who still crushed Inter and Barcelona last season, lest we forget.
Yes, I laugh at Arsenal being called an elite team. They've basically been playing one game a week for years because they've struggled to even get into Europe, and when they did they bombed out the minute they faced a half-decent side. Then they rode their luck for one season, in which they crumbled the moment the pressure was on, and are now an Elite Team™ ahead of Bayern, because Bayern had a bit of an off season.

I mean the whole notion that Lewandowski had anything to do with resale value, when they kept him until he was deep into his 30s and reportedly would have liked to keep him for even longer, sounds pretty stupid to me. So there's that, too.
As for evidence I've said it, if you put Arsenal to Bundesliga last season they would have won very convincingly. And I always see domestic league as a better measurement for consistency and average level of a team. After all if you use CL, a competition where miracles happen quite frequently, Inter reached the final last season and they're definitely not elite.
But I understand, I put them in that bracket because to me it's right given their progress (the manager has had time to build) but don't get me wrong I hate Arsenal. I want Arsenal and Arteta to fail. Feck them.
The idea that based on last season Bayern, Real Madrid or even Milan are not elite but Arsenal are is one of the wildest shared on the caf since the caf raving about Mangala.
Lewa wasn't 30 years old when he signed for Bayern. So I was comparing at the time when they signed, not after the players reached 30 and somehow have performed miraculously that Bayern want them to be kept around. But fair enough. Harry Kane or not, it’s deeply weird for me that of all the countries loving football, it happens to be England, it’s birthplace, where so many fans wilfully ignore the majority of its history.

Judging objectively a club has little to do with loving it.
The point I was making is that there was no guarantee he'd get a move to another English side in 1 year's time (that he'd want). Everyone thinks that you add a player with Kane's qualities/goals to the United side and it'll automatically be like when RVP joined. ETH might not want him, not from the perspective of rating him as a player, but from a point of building a side with longevity, a certain way of playing, and what the financial cost would mean for addressing other higher priorities.
So if city don't need him, we didn't seem to want him, he likely wouldn't go to Chelsea or Arsenal, and he probably doesn't suit Liverpool's style under Klopp, then he'd be likely seeing his time out at Spurs or going to Newcastle I suppose - but that might not be that much better than being at Spurs trophy wise.
It's unfortunate for Kane in that when city did want him, spurs wouldn't sell, and we'd have been a million times better off taking him at the point we re-signed Ronaldo. A 5 year, mega price deal at that point is completely different to the idea of signing him next summer.

Arsenal played one game a week and had a cracking first half of a season was all, second half was “meh”.
If his record is broken none of those sites will say “premier league all time top scorer” anymore. They’ll sure as hell still list the trophies Kane will have in at Bayern, though.
We should apply the same logic to the C1, we lose one and Liverpool lose 4 titles which is quite obviously good.
I think Ten Haag doesn't want him though. Looks like he wants a striker that can press and has pace. Oshimen looks like his ideal striker but we aren't paying 150 for him. Maybe on a free he would try fit Kane in but I don't think he fits his plans
