Harry Kane | Bayern Munich player

Watching the highlights, do most Bundesliga team give away these huge spaces? Some of these goals Werder just opened up the highway for Bayern, jeez.
Yes hence why every attacking player's performance usually drops when they leave the league.

I know there leagues very open but we can’t say that’s the reason Kane will bag lots of goals and assist. We know he can do it in the prem. The only difference will be the amount he gets. Should get a lot more in the Bundesliga.

Him make Bayern top contender for champions league. Their team lost last 3 cl seasons because of players missing goal scoring opportunities left and right.

With him they added very special player in scoring goals but also very good creator as well for their wide players. Can occupy opponent defenders and create space for runners too.

Next meeting if happen between them and city in this season it will be a classic encounter.

People here are acting like all Bundesliga teams are playing suicidal attack football with a crazy high line.

That's not the case.

Usually most teams try to park the bus against Bayern and then you have teams like Union Berlin and Augsburg that just park the bus against any opponent.

If you look at the goals/game stat the Bundesliga had 3.1 goals/game last season, while the PL had 2.7 goals/game.

A noticable difference, yes, but not that crazy.

Which attacking players come to mind?

As far as I remember Haaland came to the PL last year and scored even better here than he did in the Bundesliga.

Same watching the highlights, the barmy amount of space in behind stands out, so rarely see that in the PL against one of the top teams.

Kane will feast with runners in that style, going to rip it up, but I imagine if he doesn't win them the CL that will be the true judgement.

I love how people comment on how the game went after obviously only watching Kane‘s assist and goal or a short highlight reel.

Yes imo. I used to watch the Bundes a couple years ago and most teams played with a suicidal high line and high pressed like crazy. Problem was their defenders were not very fast and tbh it did seem to me they didn't really care about defending. Everyone was like let's go gung ho and feck our keeper. The matches were actually quite fun to watch but the quality was lacking imo. Don't know how it's now though.

I see the 'football's coming home' folks are in full flight again

Why home though? I thought football in England only exists since 1992? I am sure I saw a game in Germany before that.

No idea why...but for some reason I want Harry to do well at Bayern.

Assist and a Goal in his first start! Good Lad

Why use many words when few words do trick?

Love you <3

They invented football. Everything that was before or still happens in other countries is so far away from English standards of football that it is insulting to even call whatever they are/were doing there by the same name. Which is probably why English fans are so angry at other leagues all the time.

Maybe it is time to find a new name for English football to distinguish it from the poor attempts of other countries to imitate it. 'Soccer' maybe?

This sounds a bit butt-hurt tbh. I'm not English but tbf the PL is way better than the Bundes. And Kane would do great there not because he's English but because he's top quality. He's among the best three #9 in the world atm. Imo most fans around the world would agree with all that.

Could this turn out to be serious problem for him? Not being able to concentrate properly, because he's not used to loud noises during games?

I think he'll struggle to lift trophies, his arms must be piss weak from a lack of lifting cups. I wouldn't be surprised if he has to has Tuchel lift his glass at Oktoberfest

That's actually another valid concern.

Maybe, but luckily for him the standard is so much poorer that he should still score plenty even with the distraction.

He carried Tottenham for years. His arms should be fine.

To be fair, at Bremen with Bayern’s away support is a good mixture.

It's just funny that people whose tactical nous usually goes no further than "you'll never score if you don't shoot" suddenly turn into tactical football analysts bemoaning all the space Bundesliga teams apparently leave open when they watch a few highlights from a game that ended 4:0 :) It gets even funnier when you think about the fact that the success of the EPL those fans are so proud of right now is primarily based on tactical innovations by Bundesliga and La Liga coaches. They probably would have made fun of Mainz' high line when Klopp was a coach there as well, claiming it would never work in the England ;)

Son & Mane too.

I think UTD are traumatised by our signings from that league.

Was anyone "bemoaning" it? Just seemed like a statement.

If Kane gets more it will be because he's playing in a stronger team. Same way Haaland got more at City vs playing at Dortmund

Haaland Lewandowski Aubameyang the real strikers from Bundesliga matched out outdid their BL performance when they left
While EPL exports like Cancelo Mane and Hazard were major flops

Lads the Bundesliga thread and german football is turd threads didn't go anywhere, keep your jigonistic football arguments contained in there, thanks!

True but also because he’s in a more open league compared to ours.

How did Sancho, Werner and Havertz do?

The disrespect for the Bundesliga is wrong but honestly trying to gauge leagues by transfers in that way is just a bad metric because literally all signings are hit or miss whether it's between 2 leagues or even signings from the same league.

+1 it's annoying how every thread about a BL player turns into this debate.

Going back to Kane, though he wasn't as involved in attack as he was back at Spurs, he fact that he scored off that chance would be an encouraging sign for Bayern because that's exactly what they missed in big games last season.

A deflected goal, misplaced passes and just a few touches and he gets already hailed as the new messiah
The assist was great though I give him that.

No chance he won’t score at least 30 this season.

Werner depends on his speed and has very poor finish even when he was in Bundesliga.
Harvetz basically had one full season of pro football before he was signed for big money

Almost every transfer to United have been bad to disappointing in recent times while city gets more out of their transfers even those from Bundesliga.

Maybe its not the players as much as it's the team Maguire Martial Sancho Antony DvB Schneidelin Di Maria Pogba Lukaku Mhikitaryan all from different leagues similar outputs

So we can pick Maguire Schneiderlin and Lukaku as examples why buying from EPL is a terrible idea because of the PL tax

Calm down, no one called him messiah.

So a bunch of excuses about any signing that disproves what you were saying? Ah okay.

You could also point to endless signings between Premier League clubs that have been great.
