Harry Kane | "I will be staying at Tottenham this summer and will be 100% focused on helping the team achieve success."

Duncan Castles on Transfer Window podcast yesterday said Utd have already had contract talks with his representatives to get an idea of the package he would want circa 300k a week. We are the club most advanced in talks with his representatives though that doesnt mean much at moment.

A few weeks back it was mentioned on that show that the glazers were ready to signoff on a marquee signing this summer as an attempt to quell the fan discontent and that Kane was top of the wanted list.

I can see levy dragging this out all summer. £80-90mil sounds right to me in this environment. Whoever gets him is getting a helluva goal machine. Really hope its us and not city. Though you cant rule Chelsea out.

Looks quite like a player on his way out...

Fitting scoreline to hammer home the reasons why

If that wasn't the classic "I'm leaving, thanks for these years-walking around applauding the fans". Then I don't know what counts as that...

If he joins any English club it will be City. In that case I wish Levy blackmailed him into staying.

Not related to your post this, but Castles is full of shite. Him and that McGarry will fondly be remembered by me for reporting that Werner's agent had told us to forget about bidding, he is going to Liverpool or signing a new Leipzig contract, and literally a day later we'd agreed to sign him, and they then backtracked massively on the following podcast, it was fecking cringe hahaha

Castles also said Gabriel was joining us, and it was a done deal, hes playing for Arsenal now. Full of shit

His podcast is a decent listen if you have no life but everything should be taken with pinch of salt. They don't have credit themselves for fecking everything though

Definitely looks like waving goodbye, but also I still can't see Levy agreeing to selling him for less than 150m and I can't see anyone offering that??

Our best chance is some sort of reduced fee by adding in Martial or something. But I don't see us getting him. It'll be City unfortunately if he does go somewhere, and then it's just a case of how much they pay or if they toss in someone like Gabriel Jesus to sweeten the deal (which I could see).

Hes waving at fans for the first time in the spurs stadium in yonks. There's no one paying insane money for him. Itll need be some sort of part exchange and I cant imagine who city would part with

Even City aren't paying £150m cash for him.

Nah, it'll be £50m cash for him and £100m cash to Levy's Virgin Island shell company.

People suggesting United exchange Martial + cash, or City exchange Jesus + cash. I think I read Kane is on 130K a week, or something similar. The two aforementioned probably both earn more than that. So even from a financial perspective, they likely wouldn't fancy the move. From a footballing sense, how are these clubs going to convince those players to join Spurs?

And if City or United sold those players to fund a deal for Kane - what would a club pay for Jesus, or Martial? I couldn't imagine it would reach 50m.

Isn't Martial on something like 200k+?

wow that's quite low for one of the best strikers in PL for the past 5/6 seasons and England's captain, how did Levy convince him to accept a 6 years deal with such low wage for a player of his caliber?!

After a bit of browsing, some maintain it's 200K. But reading above, Martial on 250K, I mean, Martial for Kane (even if he wanted to go there) is not exactly dampening the blow greatly, for Spurs. They'd hardly want to rearrange their wage structure to fit in Martial for 20% more than Kane presently earns.

In any case, I don't see those players wanting to join Spurs. Lingard, perhaps. And what's that, 10-20% of the price?

Just shows how ridiculously dumb we are when handing out contracts or extensions.

Kane on 130k
Martial 250k

Jesus wept, get Martial sold ASAP and get a respectable wage structure where we arnt paying players based on their egos.

Kanes agent is a simpleton. That long of a contract on 130k a week is criminal

I think Kane is on 200k a week, Martial could be on the same or slightly more but why do people think he'd get exactly the same wages if he moved? Hardly ever happens, if he wants first team football he'll go.
I'm sure spurs will include lots of bonuses for him.

Looks to me like the reaction of a player on the final home game of the season after a shite loss.

He's only player to applaud the home fan. Their captain and other players just walked off the pitch for what I have seen until the broadcasting end.

Yeah, 200k is more like it, i also googled a bit, the guardian & the times say his basic wage is 200k, but i can't find anything from a reputable source on the claims that Martial earns 250k a week.

but i agree i doubt Spurs would accept Martial in a part exchange deal for Kane, they would want whatever they would demand in full

Clearly he loves the club. That and Spurs were near the top of the league and doing well in the CL. Poch was going to stay and Spurs were going to be dominant for a few years.

It is hard to believe Kane is on 130k a week. Common sense might tell you it is not true.

But, let's use it to beat our club. Not that we don't need to be careful with our own wage structure.

You shouldn’t believe everything you read because somebody posts it on a forum. A quick check would show you that Kane is reported to be on 200k a week.

I recall reading somewhere I don't remember right now, he's on around 300k, but that is with all the bonus. His base pay is quite low for a player of his calibre.
Bonus? Can’t be because of all the trophies he has won. Probably CL qualification, etc. Maybe even goals scored (but that would be laughable actually).

Sorry about that 130K bit  was from Castles. In any case, Kane is earning a lot less than a world class striker could earn at a top club. He signed a shite deal.

Kane signing that long term contract sounded like a terrible idea at the time but now it's madness in Spurs current state.

I don't think he will leave given Spurs are in such shambles. Doesn't come across as that kind of a player.

Maybe one more year for a comfortable top4 finish and one last hurrah for a trophy?

Why have I seen so many comments about "resale value" in this thread???

As if we sell players for the same amount, let alone a higher value for what we bought them at. Laughable reason not to sign him if that's the thought process.

That being said, I would love him here but safe money is city, especially when their talisman striker's off this season.

Amazing De Gea is on 375k,Pogba 290k and Martial on 250k yet we end up having a lower wage bill that the likes of City by 67mil.

Its almost as if the media are guessing.

How would a top four finish be in any way comfortable for Spurs next season, with or without Mourinho? they'll be lucky to scrape 6th.
