Has Ozil been the leagues best player...

He's definitive proof that even top players can take a season to adjust to a new team or league.

I think with Ozil it came down to his personality too. He's a very unassuming and bashful guy and shies away from the spotlight. It seemed that the only thing holding his game back was himself, or at least it was in his head.

But after his injury last year he came back with a new attitude to match his new physique. He didn't come back just physically stronger but also mentally too.

When he arrived he started off on fire, playing very well for the first few months until he had his first injury. Then it became a slog for him. But you're right in that some players simply take time to adjust - I believe the ADM would have had a similar transformation, though maybe not so much a physical one (as he looks incapable of putting on weight), if he had hung around.

He's plays like a modern day Savicevic.

A gem of a player who would pick up Ballon d'Or's in a non Messi-Ronaldo era.

Would he? He's yet to have a season where he's comfortably being the 3rd best player in the world, wouldn't even say he's had a season where's he had a particularly strong claim to it.

Would still have Vardy and Mahrez slightly ahead of him for POTY, but Ozil is on track to overtake them.

I would put Mahrez in front of him and Vardy more or less at the same level as Ozil.

Even Ozil is a fantastic player to watch and gives assist for fun. I think Mahrez has been slightly better this season. Let's see who keeps this form until the end of the season.

Just imagine the damage he would do playing for Barca with MSM in front of him...glad he isn't.

He brings a skill to the table that is absolutely unique in world football.

If Mahrez continues his form and Leicester are in top 4, then surely he woud've done enough to be POTY. On the other hand if Ozil continues his form and Arsenal win the title, he has a real claim for POTY

Would be a huge loss for Arsenal if he left. I thought the days of selling their best players were over...?

It's probably bull. Barca will not pay the £50m+ that Arsenal will demand for a player they don't really need.

Arsenal aren't the financial prey animal they used to be. If Barca want him they'll have to part with serious dough. I can see him as a target for them, though.

It's Mahrez who has missed a couple of penalties that would have Leicester up 4 points more but he has been quality. Ozil very impressive too.

Dembele easily, but he wont get the credit. Fancier players who play attacking roles will.

Still think when the chips are down in the big games he goes hiding too often for me.

Marca reporting he rejected an extension on his contract despite a large pay rise offered as promises on Arsenal's progress have gone sour. States that he's not going to sign a new deal and will tell Wenger he wants to leave in the Summer. Touted with a transfer to Barcelona.

Would be hilarious. 2 years of adjusting to the league, then leaves as soon as he starts producing the goods.

The fact he's producing the goods is why these rumours are popping up. He could've signed his soul over in blood and some shit rag would still link him to Barca.

Yeah they're probably just putting 2+2 together to stir up some shit, as he's got 2.5 years left on his deal - so it's natural to assume he'll be negotiating for a new one around this time.

Rejected a new contract?

EDIT -
