I think this just comes down to my inability to understand why people give more of a feck about changing the name of pork faggots than they appear to care about... other shit. The reasoning behind the actual cause, if there ever was one, kind of becomes lost...and you end up at a point for example where it retrospectively becomes racist to have called Raheem Sterling a failure two years ago, just after England failed to beat Iceland, because someone will decide you actually called him a failure due to him being black.

Because these things already have names, widely in use for centuries. And the rationale for changing those names is ridiculous. Using that logic, why stop at anatomy? Surely eponyms that are widespread in every field of science “perpetuate the notion that advances are made by one individual – rather than the long collaborative process central to the process of scientific discovery” What about Volts? Ohms? Watts? Braille? etc. etc. etc.

Tbh the 'PC gone mad movement' (/Raoul) is nonsense I can't get behind. It's usually just a bunch of people moaning about relatively benign shit, while missing the bigger picture (the fcukery going on that @Muffled funk alluded to). While sometimes I may agree with them, I find myself being repelled by some of the other shite they have said/done or go onto say/do. For example the post @Silva highlighted.

Can't an inner beauty pageant coexist with a beauty pageant. Why is it so wrong to judge people on the way they look SOME TIMES. It's not like we think the way we look is irrelevant. There's a reason the diet section of a bookstore is as big as it is. Tonnes of people go to the gym weekly to look the way they do. What about people with a relatively low IQ and no real achievements to speak of. Are they not allowed to feel good about themselves for being beautiful?
Also having a contest that's about brains and inner beauty is fine, but does it ever occur to anyone ever that some women actually enjoy competing in a beauty pageant and are proud to be named the most beautiful? Is there anyone in the world who, when called handsome, pretty or good looking, gets mad and tells someone to feck off? (honest question, I wouldn't know)
