Sourness
Lingard's contract is up in 2021 and he's on £75,000 per week. I expect him to get a fat new contract in the the summer with his wages bumped up to the £125,000-£150,000 mark.
And good luck to him.

Him, Mata and Pereira are having a challenge who is more useless
Fair play to Pereira as the cross he put in yesterday was magnificent and would be happy if he did that all the time. I was happy for Lingard to score the other day but I feel his touch let him down in a promising position we he could have gone on to score.Lingard scored on Thursday, Andreas put in a 'perfect' cross in for the equaliser yesterday, over to Mata!
It's the Manager in situ who decides which players get new long-term contracts, not Ed Woodward, but then you probably knew that.
He’s clearly regressed since I made this thread. He’s on a long list of United first teamers who need replaced/upgraded
Nah. It wasn’t just about the goals, it was more about his finding space, linking up well with the others, his movement and his occasional worldie. There’s no evidence of any of that this seasonNah, you just lucked out with his once in a lifetime purple patch![]()

At a club run by competent owners, yes.
He has had a small improvement in his last two games. Still nowhere near good enough, but hopefully he keeps improving and he gets back to being a decent squad player. I was happy enough with him in that role (not his fault that he was being played as a starter) until this season where he's been all kinds of shit.
Exactly this. But knowing this club, he will get a new deal soon. December is on and he will score a goal here and there and then boom! New contractHopefully, improving, all those hopes for him to be a useful squad player.
Just effin sell him and get done with it.
Agree with you on that but I think he will get new contract in the summer.Hopefully, improving, all those hopes for him to be a useful squad player.

He's not even boring he's just plain uselessHow's he anywhere near the starting 11, couldn't be anymore boring to watch.
Yeah he's as equally boring as he is useless, he must be the worst player in the league and he's starting as no.10 for utd vs arsenal. He's not even boring he's just plain useless
I have never understood, why fans can hate a player, who does his best. Lingard's work rate is really good, and it is my impression, that he gives all, he has got, when he is on the pitch. I dont't think, that he is good enough for United (and should be sold), but that is not his fault - at least he tries. The same thing goes for Young, and Fellaini also gave his best. Pogba on the other hand...

Regressed. He has had about 3 months of decent football in his career. Just weird it takes some people so long to see the obvious when we are all watching the same game. He’s clearly regressed since I made this thread. He’s on a long list of United first teamers who need replaced/upgraded

I agree with Hester though that be that as it may - it's no reason to "hate" the player. He has done nothing to receive that level of dislike. It just makes us look like glory hunters who don't care about service to or love for the club.If I were to play for United, I'd do my best. My work rate would be high, and I'd give all I've got. This would not change the fact that I'm a shit footballer. Same applies to Lingard
I wonder who would take him on a free if available?

It's not Lingard's fault that Ole isn't intelligent enough to drop him, to be fair.
