Lingard scored on Thursday, Andreas put in a 'perfect' cross in for the equaliser yesterday, over to Mata!
Fair play to Pereira as the cross he put in yesterday was magnificent and would be happy if he did that all the time. I was happy for Lingard to score the other day but I feel his touch let him down in a promising position we he could have gone on to score.

Nah. It wasn’t just about the goals, it was more about his finding space, linking up well with the others, his movement and his occasional worldie. There’s no evidence of any of that this seasonNah, you just lucked out with his once in a lifetime purple patch
That's what Pereira does best, from either flank, we just need him higher up the pitch more often which would mean a positional change, and Lingard is a bit like Nani towards the end now where he was second guessing himself all the time instead of playing on instinct, i'm chuffed he scored on Thursday but it might be time he moved on, and I think deep down he feels that too.
Not sure what it's got to do with the owners, not sure why it's being mentioned in this thread.
Hopefully, improving, all those hopes for him to be a useful squad player.

Last week against Sheffield United when we were 2-1 down Ole took off Periera and put on Greenwood. At that point we were lined up like this:

It lasted for about 10 minutes and we scored 2 goals. And Lingard actually looked good. I'm not suggesting that Lingard should make that position a permanent one, however with the lack of midfielders that we have right now, and with how poor Periera was in the #6 in that game, I was surprised to see him given a shot there again vs VIlla, and not surprised in the least when Periera gave Graelish space and allowed him to curl in that first goal. For me, I would have started Lingard there for the Villa game, and I would also like to see us play a 4-4-2 more often as we completely dominated Sheffield in the short span that we did play it. Why we insist on playing a 4-2-3-1 is the biggest head scratcher for me. That is a formation that you use when you have a #10 that you want to build your team around. We don't have a #10 that is good enough for us to keep playing that formation each and every week...

Agree with you on that but I think he will get new contract in the summer.

I have never understood, why fans can hate a player, who does his best. Lingard's work rate is really good, and it is my impression, that he gives all, he has got, when he is on the pitch. I dont't think, that he is good enough for United (and should be sold), but that is not his fault - at least he tries. The same thing goes for Young, and Fellaini also gave his best. Pogba on the other hand...

When you break it down he is getting most games in what is in theory his best position at AM and in a whole calendar year he has offered no goals or assists which is exactly what that position is all about.
Can anyone remember the last time he played without holding the team back? I know the phrase gets used a lot, but we would literally be better playing with 10 men than having him in the team. Absolute waste of space.

Seeing him in the starting line up or on the sidelines getting ready to come on is such a demotivator. I'd hate to be playing with him.

If I were to play for United, I'd do my best. My work rate would be high, and I'd give all I've got. This would not change the fact that I'm a shit footballer. Same applies to Lingard

I agree with Hester though that be that as it may - it's no reason to "hate" the player. He has done nothing to receive that level of dislike. It just makes us look like glory hunters who don't care about service to or love for the club.
It's not even that I hate him - he's just a totally irrelevant player. I can't stand his media persona, but as a player on the pitch he tries all he can and has a fine attitude. He's just not good enough. Has no where near the required quality in almost every aspect of the game.

Commentators are blaming the midfield not getting Lingard involved. The fault should be with Lingard as his hiding.
