Hating Lingard

No hate at all towards Lingard, just wish he'd grow the fcuk up.
I'm sure that would help him as a player.
This is right. He’s just holding himself back by acting 6. Needs to get serious about developing his game to the point where it doesn’t feel like a waste of time talking this much about him. Trouble is he’s 25 not 19.

Right now, he is better than Mata and more better than Mkhitaryan, so we have no other options but him to play and it's a chance a big chance for him to prove he deserves to start each game, but looking at him and i think most of times he just don't care. I'm sad that Mata has declined too but I think we just need better and deserve better players than the three.

Imagine the grief Lingard would've got on the forum if instead of scoring the match-winning goal on Tuesday night he'd missed, and Watford had gone straight up the other end and equalised....

That would have been disproportionate too.

Local lad, has two legs, scores at Arsenal.....

If anything he keeps getting better... By the words of a wise man: Let the hate flow through you...

amazing what a couple of goals does...

I have always said he is a decent sub/rotation player that has a great eye for goal.

As much as i'd love to be wrong i do not think he's is quite 1st team standard...bit like Solskjaar.

But hey....definitely good enough to be involved.

Jesse has worked his bollocks off today. Play him till 70 minutes and throw on a fresh Rashford/Mkhitaryan?

He couldn't get into any other top four side. We're doomed. :(

Lingard getting a 10 from me today.
Working his ass off, producing in offense and pressing well all over the pitch.

We need more threads like this for Blind and Darmian.

Jesse, if you've been secretly reading this thread... I just want to say... It's about fecking time you pulled your socks up. This is more like it!

The guy is just not very good, let's be honest.
Lingard set an example for MK to follow, this is what you need to do to be an effective #10. Lingard may not be as talented as Mata or MK but his work rate is second to none, he was responsible for the 1st 2 goals plus scoring the 3rd one. Just leave this kid alone, he may not be the 1st name on the team sheet but he earns his place, and praise from the manager.

No other player on that pitch would have found that position on the far post to roll home Pogbas cross - I have said it before, and I ll say it again ... he is probably one of the smartest footballers in the P.L. His runs are so brilliant

Did it again. Even when he doesn't score though, he makes opposing defenders work so hard, it's that constant reminder he gives that someone's there waiting for the defender to screw up. Hard work to play against and two cracking goals today.

So happy for him. His biggest problem has always been consistency. Hope he can build on this and keep improving.

some have really come out of this one looking both foolish as well as very questionable 'fans'.

Many had commented that Lingered was a late developer and it seems he is now hitting is stride and about to enter greatness. Some of his play in past few games has been sensational: speed of thought, speed of movement and some sensational finishing that very few people in EPL football are capable of. He is looking light years ahead of Mhkytariyan and Mata and has suddenly become undroppable.

Huge credit to him and Mourinho.
