Hazard, where does he rank among the best in the world

Messi
Ronaldo
Neymar
Robben
Suarez
Muller

followed by Verratti, Reus, Bale and Hazard in no particular order would be my top 10 although I'm not even sure on that.. Aguero rarely shows up for Argentina and Hazard is a quality playmaker, stats dont tell the full story with him... still has a way to go though. Nowhere near Neymar though.

He has to do a lot more in Europe. He was underwhelming in the CL in the last two seasons. Neymar is much better than him.

Exactly.

Hazard in La Liga would do a lot of damage and I am sure Real will throw the best part of £100mil for him at some point in the next 2 years.
Yeah because La Liga is piss easy championship level hurr durr no blood and thunder right? Its not like they've won the CL and Europa twice in a row or something.

I don't see why he has to score more goals to become a better player, but he definitely has a level or two he can further improve to. Some days he's completely unplayable, but others he seems to coast through games without showing a huge desire to make a match-winning impact.

I hope we get to see what he can really do for a world-class attacking team in a year or two.

Probably true.

Actually, given the importance people attach to pure numbers, he would've benefited simply from playing in any set-up allowing him to stack up more goals and assists. As if this, in itself, would've made him a better player.

You see him step up for Chelsea and effectively win matches for them through sheer individual brilliance - but it takes him 198.898 minutes on average to score a goal, so he can't be all that.
True, though I never saw him as a great goalscorer, his insane ball control and dribbling at times allows him to get a few shots away but he was by far at his best occupying left-central areas and opening up teams with his great combination of touch and pass. It is difficult to measure his impact in terms of numbers of goals or assists, but he creates a lot of space for others.

Neymar has insane numbers, but he's in a forward-dreamland at the moment, playing besides the little magician where he serves so much to him on a plate. Put him in the Chelsea team and apart from a few flashes here and there he could easily spend games isolated on the flank.

Well hes clearly above Sanchez and Aguero in terms of the PL. ( that doesnt mean hes a better striker than Aguero because he isnt a striker), but hes also clearly a level below the elite. Why is De Bruyne and Sterling anywhere near that list, they havent shown anything yet to be there so soon.
Hazard isn't better than Aguero for me, not by some distance. The only argument that could possibly be made is he's injured less, which is a separate discussion and probably blurs the lines a little in this debate. What possibly backs that statement up? Aguero is the all-time leading PL striker in terms of minutes per goal - just to add some context to his ridiculous conversion rate.

1. Messi
2. Ronaldo
3. Suarez, Neymar, Bale (during his last season at Spur)
4. Muller, Robben, Aguero, Reus, Silva, Hazard, Sanchez, Pogba

I stand by the point that he's overrated purely based on his dribbling. Sterling is getting the same treatment now

Lads, he plays for Chelsea. Let's not delude ourselves here - if Madrid or Barcelona want him they will get him.

He's nowhere near Ronaldo or Messi. Heck, he's a level below the second tier of Suarez, Neymar and Robben et al.

Good player, very good at winning penalties but hides in the biggest games.

You chat shite but even you must realise that while he easily deserved to win last season he wasn't sensational.

He's the second best in the league in my view. Can still improve further though.

Come on now Bob, I know you're a Liverpool supporter but let's not descend to the level of your hub cap stealing fellow Liverpudlians eh? Out of curiosity, who would you say was above him last season. Given that he won all the individual awards and all that.

Probably 6th behind the usual suspects........ Messi, Ronaldo, Suarez, Ibra, Neymar. In the category with Robben and Muller. Robben only because he's aging now, otherwise he'd be higher up.

Third for me. He's a very, very special talent.

If he was the third best player in the world, he'd play for Madrid or Barcelona. It's that simple, mate. Don't delude yourself, you sound ridiculous.

Can we put pedro on the list so that when we eventually sign him we can say we have one of the top players in the world again.

I suspect he probably will play for one or the other in a few years. If you step away from simple goal/assist stats though and start looking at the wider range, he's right up there pushing the top guys. This season he will silence a lot of critics if he stays fit I think.

I think people are blinded by how poor the Premier League is right now. There's at least 10 players playing abroad that would be the best player in our league hands down over Hazard, Aguero and Sanchez.

Right now, for me, the best player in the league is Aguero. It's a shame about his injury record because it means he's rarely in the discussion for player of the season.

Silence a lot of critics? Within the media, he's the most overrated player to play in England for more than 10 years.

The last time I did this I put him in the third tier after last season though it's hard to put Bale or Robben ahead of him, that being said he's still clearly not at the level of someone like Suarez who himself is not at the level of Messi so yeah still tier three for me

He stands out in a Chelsea side that lacks flair. He's a really good player but I personally feel he's some way down the list of worlds best and is overall slightly overrated. He wouldn't stand out at Barcelona or Madrid.

 What the hell is that logic?

It's pretty sound logic. If he was an upgrade on either of Barca's front 3 (he isn't) they'd want to buy him. Thus, they'd publicly tap him up (as they always do). This would unsettle Hazard as a team with a better/bigger club would want him and thus, he'd force your hand to let him go.

:wenger: They're happy you are not in charge of their transfer policy. This isn't FIFA.

I'm gonna play the devil advocate here, but chelsea rarely lose players they don't want to sell. Hazard's worth in today's market would put off real and barca as well.

Where have I said anything comparable to FIFA? Are you trying to say that Barcelona couldn't unsettle a Chelsea player?

Again, rubbish. Reus and Muller are better than him and both would be the best player in our league.

Just seen you're an Arsenal fans. If only we could lock up all the Arsenal and Chelsea fans on this forum...

And no, you're wrong.

>Go to transfers
> Order players by top overall rating.
> Bid all the top ones.

Yep. Pretty FIFA that.

Let's not think whether they need him or whether he fits in their system, or anything.

Do you regularly watch the Bundesliga? I guarantee if United signed either of those two players, everyone on this site would claim that player is the best player in the league. And I wouldn't disagree with them.. because they'd be correct. If Muller comes to United it'll be the best signing you could make aside from Bale. Reus turned down Real Madrid in January apparently and the Dortmund CEO said he could have earned a lot more 'at several top clubs'.

The English media hype him up because he's arguably the best player in the best team in the league.

He's not top 10 players in the world for me.
Top 10 attacking players yes.

Hazard is comfortably better than Reus and Muller.

You overrate Hazard I feel as you use the word "comfortably better". You had him down as better than Neymar too iirc.

Him being the best player in the league (something I disagree with) tells more about the league than him. Muller and Reus are both better players, Muller especially.

I've watched both enough times to form an opinion. And that will not change whether or not we sign either of them. I don't care who Reus turned down. Not like Real Madrid haven't signed some almighty duds in the past.

Hazard is quite simply the better player.

In our current setup, Muller and Reus would be much better buys than Bale. It's a shame neither are going anywhere.
