Here's a tough one: Dalglish or Cantona?

And Eric was better than Dalgleish by miles. ;) </strong><hr></blockquote>

In that case, apologies - I think. <img src="graemlins/nervous.gif" border="0" alt="[Nervous]" />

Definitely Cantona. Players need to be able to understand each other. ;)

And Marching - 10000 posts! Not bad for someone who only came to slag off Keano, but it has to be said, has learned the error of his ways. :) Keano being no worse than Shearer, just more honest about it.....

But who would have thought that Marching on Together would become an institution on the Caf. An elder statesman, loved and respected by all. Admired for his intelligent and constructive opinions, his sense of right and justice, the way he has managed to bring warring factions together in peace and harmony. A humble Leeds fan, not bitter and twisted, but someone who recognises the class of MU, and bows down before it in homage and wonderment.

So congratulations Marching - and don't worry, you can stay.

Oops, nearly forgot the ;) ;) ;)

And that's when you compare how much INFLUENCE a player made to winning all those trophies/medals. Phil = 5%, Cantona = 100%, Dalglish = 100%.

Its just that Dalglish's 100% contains more trophies than Cantona's. Your Phil and Mikey comparisons are not relevant here.</strong><hr></blockquote>

And if Dalglish played in your present set up how many medals would he have got. It's not about medals you fekin cretin, it's about INFLUENCE.

Tough call. So I'll be as objective as I can.
Dalglish has proven himself on a European stage but I wouldn't consider him a flair player. But the moment Dalglish left the game, the influence was no longer there.
So on pure success alone, Dalglish wins.

Cantona however produces moments that leaves people in the stands gasping. His influence on the younger players in the team. Alan Hansen probably would be right to say that you don't win Championships with kids. But he didn't have the experience to work with a truely influential player like Cantona so he ended up eating his words. These kids also formed the core that won the lot in '99. So on being influential to a team that has won Man Utd the treble, Eric is the King and gets my vote! :D
