Hull City Vs. Manchester United

It's unlikely yes, but VDS won't get staright back in to the team if PIG keeps this up and we can wave good bye to Foster soon enough.

Keep what up? The few shots he's had to deal with have been central enough to have expected any keeper in the league to save them. He hasnt been tested with crosses in this match so far but usually thats a concern.
And VDS's first team place wont be under threat from PIG until he learns to kick the ball.

Nice to see Wazza making a point in celebrating with Fletch who did exactly what Rooney does so often in chasing a wayward ball.

And I don't think Berba's been that bad in all honesty. The most wasteful players have, unfortunately, been the wingers.

I think Betbatov has been the only player in the front six who has shown good touch and good passing. Giggs and Rooney have been poor in that regard. I'm hoping to see a big improvement in the second half.

Like Rooney? oh yeah he's done nothing either in terms of general play

its just an opinion.....and I will fight till the death to be able to express that opinion.....rooney is a united player.....berba is not.

Having said that I can see us winning 3-0 now...:) And yes...berba will probably score....

but it doesn't detract from my belief that berba is not a united player....

Giggs in his 30s has always been a slow starter, even more so when he's been out for a while but geez, he's set a new low today. Apart from the set pieces, he's been dire.

It's nothing new. He has been really poor in the 1st half in a lot of games but he gets left on because he is Ryan Giggs. Credit to him, he has turned it around quite a few times this season with some majestic 2nd half performances, but other players would be dragged off at half time.

I don't think Giggs has been any worse than Valencia/Fletcher/Rooney etc this half though.

agreed.

Berbatov has given the ball away with sloppy passing just like they have. And his play in and around the box has been far from convincing. Neither of the wingers or the strikers have had a good game so far.

Only 2 players with any real energy - Fletcher and Rafael. Wingers have ibeen invisible. Valencia as been anonymous for quite a few games now. Seems like he is no longer on a mission to prove himself.

Giggs & Carrick need to offer more movement & want the ball more. Fletch looks made up to be back in the middle. Valencia needs to help Rafael more & get running at them from deep.

I wasn't in no way referring to just this match, he's filled in very well for VDS up until now and i did say it is unlikely didn't i? But, you can't entirely rule him out saying VDS will walk back in to the team.

I can't believe anyone thinks Berbatov is playing well, hes been anonymous. For some people he just has to be on the pitch to have a good game its ridiculous.

Hopefully the goal will help Rooney. His decision making's just been, well...weird.

Berbatov's touch and vision has been good, as always, it's just what the feck he's up to the rest of the time I still don't quite get...Just play off the centrebacks please. Let Rooney do the moving around

Why - because Rooney runs further?

That seems to be the crux of most people's issues with Berbatov: effort.

Extremely misguided in my opinion.

Our attackers still haven't got a clue how to play with each other.

Including today's first half, Berba is averaging 1 goal every 240 minutes in the league. That's roughly 1 every 2.5 games.

So not much worse than Cantona's I'd guess?

He wasn't bought for his goals, and we want him to be scoring around one in two. He's not quite hit those heights but he's not been as bad as some are making out.

Once again completely lacking in confidence when finishing that last chance. At spurs he would've casually hit it with the outside of his foot looking a lot more confident.

Have to disagree with anyone calling us poor. Our possession play was despicable but I thought we looked pretty comfortable all game. Rooney trying to be too over-elaborate, lie-wise for Giggs, Berbatov and Valencia not looking threatening enough. Looks an easy win to me.

VDS will absolutely walk back into the team. PIG has done well as a backup but thats it. And there's still 45 minutes for him to be seriously tested, which he hasnt been yet. The best save so far has been from Rafael's effort.

Yeah, it's not like Rooney and Berbatov played two excellent one twos that very nearly lead to goals or anything...

Thought them two as a partnership have looked much better.

There's this group of posters that no matter the outcome, no matter who's having a mare, they always have to comment about how bad Berbatov is playing (obviously not seeing the same match as others are watching) and that he's not a United player (odd comment considering he is wearing the United kit and is employed by United).

Easy win for sure, I just think most are worried by our lack of cohesion and lack of quality in our play. Hopefully just lack of confidence.

My point is your reasoning of being on it for ninety minutes, berbatov has done as much as Rooney so far

IMO wellbeck isn't a united but that's another disscusion entirely

true even though he's shown the best touch and passing

If you mean the side netting effort then bullshit. In his final season at Spurs he scored at least two from that sort of angle where he just blasted it past the keeper.

just saw the replay of the brown tackle. brown looks to have gotten to the ball first. no penalty in my mind.

I think the Hull player stepped on the ball and slipped due to it. If he had touch the ball properly forward, then it should have been a penalty.

This reminds me of Brown's 'penalty' against Barcelona 2 seasosn ago I think.
