Internationals March (World Cup Qualifiers + Friendlies)

Makes their euro win seem a bit off course

It does. But these international tournaments have often been like that. I think England getting to that final made people massively overrate almost every single player.

Can anybody explain to me why Italy not opted for a stadium that is a bit more intimidating (eg. San Siro)? What is this nonsensical choice? Arrogance?

Italy do the highest highs and lowest lows, not much in between.

Their WC record since 2006 win is incredible....finished bottom of 2010 group which included Slovakia and New Zealand. Also went out in group stage with England in 2014 losing to Costa Rica and now not qualified for last two.

Going to have to do some proper rebuilding in most areas now, Immobile is useless at international level when it comes to the crunch. They were better in euros playing false 9.

Jorginho missed two penalties against Switzerland (one in each game). Had he scored one, Italy would have qualified. He is lucky his miss in the Euro final was not decisive. Otherwise that would have been an even more catastrophic series of penalties.

Yeah, Italy completely dominated both matches, how couldn't they score ffs

Will Mancini resign? It's not his fault Immobile it's useless and Jorginho missed penalties, but he will take the blame anyway i guess, most managers take the blame for mistakes made by players.

What happened to Spinazzola? They kinda missed him today

They played at Palermo in qualifying, think they drew 1-1 with Bulgaria there so yeah bizarre choice given they always play in Milan or Rome for their crunch home games.

Not very concerned about Isak going to our competitors...not sure about him.

Bring on Elanga!!!

I don't even like Italy in football, but I want to see them play more than one-shot-and-lucky-punch-underdog teams...

Bale turns up after not being seen for months, scores 2 immense goals, pulls his groin and won’t be seen again until Wales’ next game

Telephone call tonight…

Bale “Hi it’s Gareth”

Madrid “Hello Mr Bale. How did you get on?”

Bale ”we won 2-1. I scored both, really good goals too”

Madrid (through gritted teeth) “we’re made up, well done. How many minutes did you play?”

Bale “90 minutes”

Madrid (perking up) “oh. So you’re available to play then?”

Bale (grinning) “sorry… I think I did something to my groin in the 89th minute. Maybe be back April… or May. Laterz”

Italy did not qualify for WC 2018 and it seems will not qualify for WC 2022. Most of their players are with average teams. But they won the Euros with freakish energy. Nothing to see here. it was all inspired by Vialli’s health problems.

Such a weirdo record :

> Very good Euro 2012 reaching the final
> Poor WC 2014
> Very Good Euro 2016
> Didn't quality for WC 2018
> Win Euro 2020
> Didn't qualify for WC 2022

Super Bizarre

Where's all the chants of 'It's coming Rome' gone?

Do you mean when they beat England in the final and took it back to Rome?

Might be the worst bit of trash talking I've ever seen lad, not gonna lie. "Where are those chants from when you broke my heart last summer? Huh? Yeah, exactly!".

To be fair england overrate every single one of their players regardless of how they perform in tournaments.

I saw a Rashford vs Mbappe Thread not too long ago.

No

Just saw Jota's crazy headed finish. Boy is he a finisher and a half.

According to Manchester Evening News Mourinho was substituted for Nunez. Never knew Mourinho was playing for Portugal.

It could be that they feel less pressure at the euros.

The start of the decline of Serie A in the late 2000s and a very poor national pool of players.

Missed his other handful of chances he fecked up then?
His goal tally speaks for itself this season. He can even play completely terrible like he did against Forest and still get the winner. Always in and around the box trying to get on the end of things.
