Their team has better quality in it (at least in terms of dynamism), and they play quicker, more accurate football. It's no secret formula.

And Jesus switches it on regularly, unlike our most likely comparison, who does it every now and then and everyone makes excuses for ("but he's still young").

Hes the second best manager I've ever ever seen, after Fergie of course. I hope he fecks off somewhere else soon.

The man is going to win the league at a canter.
Hats off to him.
Can criticise his spending all you want, he plays a brave brand of football and has gotten the players he wants.

It looks like he has the team he wants now, and he is back to his best, playing the brand of ideal football he always want.

He's always played the best football from any team i've ever seen. It might seem negative to some because other team's cant deal with it so park the bus

We should aspire to more than just being functional and results driven, we're not a relegation threatened team but Jose could've fooled me today.

This is my gripe. Barca, Real, Bayern would never go out to play like that against there rivals. Real did a few years back against Barca(mourinho managed them). I trust in mourinho. he needs to trust in his self more. We could have, should have got at Liverpool today.

But yeah Pep is a fantastic manager. You can really see his stamp on the players/team. Sterling, Sane, De bruyne, Fernandinho, All improving under his coaching

Aguero is out and they scored 7.

Also mendy out for the season

They’ve had a few injuries in fairness

And fairly significant injuries tbf, they're playing a midfielder at LB and back to a false 9 with Kun out

Last season they drew nil with Stoke and Pep had them ready from the first whistle - they have their tailfeathers up which is entertaining to see but it's still very early in the season. Yet the cohesion and confidence is very clear to see and then there's KDB or D.Silva who can win matches on their own. They're definitely rolling up the opposition right now

I don't believe the injuries are that significant, just how much more attacking talent could he possibly have, in realistic terms?

Well, I hate Pep, I hate him because he was a fraud as a player and because he has a bad mouth.

However, you can't take it away from him, he's a beast of a manager. I think that was the best game I've seen in the last 10-12 years in the EPL, if not the best, with the best football being played on the pitch, that's for sure.

If they play like that this EPL season will be a steamroll.

How was he a fraud as a player?

This is an over reaction like all the other posts in this thread since todays game.

Mourinho has won just as much but with lesser teams mainly. Guardiola inherited a better team than Mourinho, whilst spending more money. He won nothing last season and his team are only 3 points ahead of us.

Still wish we had him over Jose.

Prefer his footballing ideals.

If Footballing ideals mean managing the best teams in their leagues whilst spending a truck load of money. He inherited the best team in the world at Bayern and couldnt even conquer Europe.

Mourinho inherited this United team stuck in Van Gaals way, City were a vastly superior team when Pep came and is only ahead of us by 3 points.

He wasn't, probably top 5 defensive midfielder in the 90's, part of Cruijjf "Dream Team".

I don't remember him as a player all that much TBH. You can't win as much as him as a player and be a fraud. I know a City fan who claims Scholes is a 'fraud', not sure how that works really.

Still remember him, imo Xavi or Busquets are better but he started the now tradition of the number 6 role of players who come from La Masia, he played under Cruijjf, Bobby Robson and Van Gaal, in the same teams as Koeman, Stoitchkov, Romário, later with Figo, Ronaldo or Luis Enrique, complete nonsense, if he was a fraud why would those 3 top managers at the time always play him and make him captain of the team?

a tad nervous that this city team could go unbeaten all season, they have faced some huge tests already this season and passed them with flying colours

Indeed. No player that is consistently picked by top managers can be a ‘fraud’.

They started last season on fire too.

They are better but people need to hold their horses a bit.

Mourinho is who he is. He won't chang at this point of his career and despite any clubs he will manage. It is part of the package sadly.

Since the thread started, 8-0-0, 32 goals for, 3 against.

They need to hold on but comparisons with last season are useless. Much of last year's team are gone and others are improved.

He was a good player but never a great player.

The poll result in this thread is as silly as it is sad. Great manager who can make his teams play incredible football. Yes he hs money to spend, what is he supposed to do take a job at Palace?

Right, played alongside Koeman, Stoitchkov, Popescu, Figo, Ronaldo, under Johan, Bobby and Van Gaal, captain of the team and was a fraud, right, sure, whatever you want.

This thread is embarrassing. Can we please stop bumping or at least change the fecking thread title.

I am not a Pepista or Bielsista kind of guy, in Portugal I support Sporting instead Benfica, If I was Dutch I would support Feyenoord instead Ajax, don't like to talk football with Barcelona fans because I think they are more arrogant than Real Madrid or Atletico Madrid fans.

But those who say Guardiola is a fraud live in a fantasy bubble and only measure football by statistics and trophies, even with expensive players he improves them and makes them better, just look at Sterling or Delph playing under him, doesn't mean they will win the league, maybe Mou can get it right ...

It's unfair to use unlimited funds as an excuse because we've basically had unlimited funds since Fergie retired but managed to build absolutely nothing.
