Is Mou still 'The Special One' for you all?

I like Jose, but he frustrates me. I presume he does have some control over the players - so is it down to them or the manager that we seem incapable of going forward. Am sick of constant back passes. Am sick of seeing players not being used in their best positions - has Rashford been banned from moving into the centre? Am sick of hearing about Pogba's potential. Am sick of seeing holding midfielders especially at home.

And Watford have put two past WBA....

Yes. But he must be glad he's at United. No way would Real or Chelsea stand for this shit.

I have faith in him but he has lost the plot tonight.

I can understand bringing on Pogba but to then take off Blind to then convert Herrera into a LB, why?

Of course not, but you can't change the whole #1 team in one summer, which is ALMOST what is needed.

I don't buy that at all.

Teams with lesser quality than us play better football and score more goals.

No, he is finished. Its clear that the players are not given any coaching when it comes to positioning around the opponent's box. There is no one to handle incoming crosses. We clearly dont practice set pieces, evident when rashford and young are taking corners. This is all down to bad coaching. We don't play in triangles, a player is under pressure but hardly anyone comes up to claim a pass. All stroll around the pitch. Players don't seem to practice shooting because all we see is ball going to row z. And finally, persisting with players like lingard, fellaini and young who offer nothing to the side. Rashford is doing nothing but only Martial gets benched. The man is out of his depths, selling BFS and keeping fellaini.
We will spend another fortune in the summer but there won't be any improvements, i have given up upon any improvements in our play.

It's not even about being the "special one" anymore, I just don't think, over the past couple of seasons, he's shown to be a good manager. There's some things that he's pleasantly surprised me with but, on the whole, I don't have any faith in him bringing us back to at least competing at the top.

Yeah, don't know what has happened but at some point between his first spell at Chelsea and his last season at Chelsea, his man management skills have nosedived. Easier to pinpoint the players who've deteriorated since last season than the ones who've improved, and last season was dire.

Madrid happened, and he actually failed for once in his managerial career. That experience a lot of people seem to think damaged him.

I think, at this stage of his career he's probably lost some of his early drive, passion and patience as well. He's hardly going to top his treble at Inter and he's been managing for a fairly long time now. Not everyones a freak like Fergie who can keep going for 30 years straight.

Time for Andy Tate to come out

Suppose we've had a few chances and hit the cross bar so he's got his excuse sorted.

Usual playing against 10 players in the box shite now.

Uh, he didn't fail at Madrid, but so carry on.

Overall - at least until recently - we were better to watch than we were under Moyes or LVG. I'd be happy to get back to that, regardless of results.

We should just sack him to appease the anti-Mourinho who are always ready to strike.
If United binned him now, then what's the next plan? Who shall we get in next just to jump all over their back after only twenty odd league games whilst bagging a cup and still in Europe??!

He failed in his last season. How's that in any way undeniable? It was the first time in his career where he'd had a season so bad.

Well it was a matter of time. Very strange decision making leads to things going wrong. If he's doing this kind of thing during the game for 90 minutes, imagine how many odd decisions are being made for the other 6 days in the week. Weird

Said it before he isn't the greatest tactically. However he is really good at getting the best out of 'his very own' players.

Watching us play sometimes is like watching dolphins trying to head a ball on the beach

What's to say our good form this season was just a response to LVG being sacked? Look at Leicester since the sacking, they're flying. Now they the dust has settled, we're back to the same old.

Oh can we please stop blaming mourinho. We had been creating enough chances in the majority of games to have racked up at least 10 more points. The players have let him and us down with poor finishing and bad decision making in the clinical moments. He can't change that. We have got a lot of dross and he needs at least another transfer window to work his magic. We have clearly seen an improvement in our play, the players are phyciologically suffering through the poor finishing which they are bringing on themselves and it's hard to snap out of it with the quality we have.

Today's the day I've lost that little bit of faith. I've always been firmly behind him, but come on man... why is he building this side around fecking Fellaini? Third manager in a row that will go down with this bog brush if he persists with this. Jesus fecking Christ Jose, just fecking stop man. I'm so fecking disappointed.

We are creating enough chances in all of these matches, and we are conceding few. The manager is not the main problem IMO.

Roll forward 12 months or sooner and the lynch mobs would be out there too. It's the nature of the fickle fan.
If the fans/media had such a voice at the start of the Fergue era then he'd have been gone too

Awful. The most expensive squad in world football and we spend the entire second half launching it.

All goodwill he had in the bank has gone now, at least for me. Let's see what he does from here on in.

The title of this thread makes me angry. Premature thread. OP go support Liverpool and the 'normal' one.

This game was never a Mourinho problem. His job is to create conditions for the team to create chances. He can't score for the forwards.

Played favoures (again) and it backfired. He wanted to bring on Martial too late, and the injury to Young forced his hand, so we ended up with Fellaini and Lingard flailing about for 90 minutes because he wanted to prove a point with a shit line up.

Needs to cut this shit out next season. We didn't hire him to get the best out of Fellaini, Young, Lingard and Rojo...Moyes could've done that.

He spent an absurd amount on Pogba when he came in. I'm fine to give him more time and would perhaps even be happy to do if we don't make the CL as long as there's been obvious improvement but considering we've had three managers since Fergie now, I'm starting to be a little suspect of this excuse.

Chelsea finished 10th last season and within one summer window Conte had them strolling the league. Klopp/Guardiola have arguably improved upon what their sides had last season within one window, too...although those improvements have been relatively minor like us, and we could still feasibly finish ahead either of them. But still...I'll happily give Mourinho time, but he splashed an absurd amount of money last summer for improvements that are...well, minimal so far.
