Israel - Palestine Discussion | Post Respectfully | Discuss more, tweet less

I noticed last night that the BBC News site had a gaza story as it's headline news item. Nothing different is suddenly happening in Gaza so why have they suddenly changed editorial direction? They've obviously has instruction from the government via it's leadership.

I think we're now inevitably into the revisionist phase. They've waited until Israel has flattened gaza and now western media can pretend it's humanitarian again.

I think so. They waited 120 days.

Couple that to Israelis holding quite candid discussions on settlement plans while talking about 'migrating Palestinians' then you have an idea behind their nefarious objectives here.

If you are talking about a security zone, then OK. But there are no serious talks about settlement plans.

From what I've seen it seems mainly the return to Gush Katif nutjobs, spurred on the two far right ministers.

BBC want in on the horror porn. Boost their dwindling viewer figures. Israel have obviously ok'ed it meaning we must be near some end game now.

Apparently one of the terrorists was fully paralysed and Israel was concerned he'd be turned into a bionicle cyborg.

palestinians have darth vader technology from the mein kampf, as this documentary proves

So Blonken said, we (the US) have not investigated it themselves, and Ellwood say not only UNRWA is infiltrated, but also "other agencies", but sure, cant show any evidens.

A 3 km security zone all around a strip that's about 6 km wide (12 km at its widest, which is a third of the territory).

That's going to work a treat.

So, so, so complex. :(

All those tunnels, etc.
"Necessary legal permission" sounds like this is some sort of common procedure and that the worst thing is not that they are doing what they are doing, but that they haven't respected the procedure.

Fear has been the leitmotiv of Israel's policy towards the Palestinians since 1948.

It absolutely dreads them. Every single step, every single law, every single political discourse, every single military operation in the past 75 years is a direct consequence of it. And when you let fear drive your actions, there's no happy ending.

A tragic irony.

Brain 'full kit wanker' Mast again with the shocking takes again. The GOP really are comic book villains. Mind you the Dems aren't much better on the issue.

Biden just comes out of this looking so weak it's actually amazing to watch.

This is desperately bottom of the barrel stuff. Biden has the ability to stop the IDF functioning with the stopping of weapon deliveries. Some sanctions against settlers is nothing.

True, but he's not interested in stopping the war in Gaza. Rather he's interested in throwing a political bone to domestic Amerian critics of Israel by going after low hanging fruit of sanctioning WB settlers.

Yep. Your right this does seem to be the case. Which is depressing.

I guess they’ve seen the polling and heard the negative noises from Muslim Americans. I have no idea if this policy change will work.
