I'm a bit perplexed because some admittedly shady tweets suggest that it was Hamas because IDF wasn't bombing at that time but IDF's answer was that they don't know yet if it was them and will have details later.
I do think some people here are very quick to lay all blame at Israel ready. Not the same energy as "where is the baby beheading evidence?"
International condemnation is pretty irrelevant, Israel rarely takes any notice of it and neither do Hamas, International action is what is needed but it needs to apply to both sides
Israel has a right to defend itself against cancer patients and disabled people. It's disgraceful people can't see this.
If this hospital strike is verified I imagine the US will be telling Israel to get back in its box tomorrow.
Different circumstances though. Israel has been bombing buildings and this building certainly looks like it was bombed.
Another successful military operation by Israel with hundreds of civilian casualties that the West can conveniently ignore because we don't care unless we can call something terrorism! I mean, that's what we've been doing for decades, right?
Nobody doubted that those people had been killed, though. The media is widely reporting that hundreds have been killed in an attack on a hospital in Gaza. Only one group is performing air strikes on Gaza currently. The alternative is a Hamas false flag, which is a much stronger claim and thus needs more evidence.
It was a single explosion apparently. Doubt Hamas possess a rocket that could do such damage.
They are not equivalents in status or any other way. Hamas has no embassy here.
At this point I wouldnt be worried if Iran or Hezbollah(terrorist group) get involved if it means Israel restraint on annihiliating Gaza. Cnuts the lot of them in that Israeli government. This is just going to increase anti-semintic sentiments as people have shown the lack of ability to differentiate between a whole ethnic group and the action of a fascist government.
This the first time they've said something slightly different like this? Difficult to know how they can row back so drastically though when the rhetoric has been so aggressive in the past week.

That's a terrible analogy. That would be the equivalent of this news coming from a Hamas spoke person, If a Hamas spoke person came out claiming this I'm sure the same doubts would be brought up.
We're watching the injured on TV right now. We can see the hospital in flames. It's not the same.
Hamas rockets regularly fall short or go astray and cause damage and deaths in Gaza. However none has ever remotely come anywhere close to causing the type of carnage being reported. If the reporting is accurate then only one party can possibly be responsible.
Or a failed rocket launch?

I think the reports are they had some more planned that weekend but couldn't accomplish everything in their initial plan.
I do think after the initial attack the plan was to hunker, bleed the IDF in any sort of ground war and try to leverage the media cycle so they get a few days of bad press for the attack and then Israel/IDF gets weeks or months of bad press for the retaliation.
It's absolutely cruel and cynical but that's how I think Hamas leadership, who are safe in Qatar, operate. They just care more about hurting Israel than protecting the Palestinians. And Iran has a clear agenda here too in preventing Israel-SA relations improving which would really isolate Iran in the region.
Considering who is charge of both Hamas and Israel, I think there is no chance that Hamas leaders didn't expect exactly this to happen which would mean this was always their endgame, intentionally sacrificing their civilians. Just like people say right wing parties like Likud benefit from Hamas rather than a more moderate PLO, Hamas likewise benefits from an aggressive Israel rather than one working for peace.
Eh, it's not about whether it got hit but the desire for evidence. Where's the evidence that Israel deliberately struck it? It may very well be true, and seems the likeliest, but we don't know that for sure yet.

The rhetoric was solely for domestic ears, the reality is that Hamas is fully prepared for a ground assault while Israel had no plans drawn up for an invasion.
Have you not seen the destruction ? Go on TV, only one of the sides caught in this conflict have the ability to cause such destruction and it's not Hamas.
And it being deliberate or not is irrelevant. Hundreds of innocent people are dead in a bloody hospital.
So If Israel releases a statement saying 'my bad' it should just be forgotten ?

It is absolutely vital that what happened with the hospital is fully investigated and reported.
The reports may not be true of course but there is a military wing of Hamas, who are all in Gaza itself and a political wing, in Qatar. The political wing is more moderate (as much as a group like Hamas can be) and the military wing far less so. Saw quite a few reports that the political wing were not informed of this plan, either at all or until quite late on.

I saw the second one earlier and the issue is that it could be from anywhere. If it is indeed in Gaza and at the hospital then it sounds like a missile.
