I called the act of elevating the meaning of random football games small time. I don't really care who I talk to, I just commentate the post. You on the other hand seem to be very concerned about my posting motivation and my posting history.
England and Southgate are shite. We had an easy run all the way to the final and then bottled it against these chancers.
I think a lot of English members completely 'lost' it because, even as someone who looks on with general indifference as a relative outsider, a lot of the rhetoric became quite unpleasant and beyond normal football 'banter'.
I think you get a pretty good idea of how many people there are from certain countries based on the activity in their country's league thread, the participation when their country plays internationals, especially in international tournaments etc.
If you believe though that there are loads of Italians on here though and that they number a similar amount to the English, then fair enough.
Hopefully! Got the world cup to look forward to at least.

Any time a major (or so called major) football team / country fail to qualify for a World Cup (or Euro), that’s going to be hilarious and lead to well deserved banter, let alone if they fail to qualify for back to back World Cups blowing so many chances along the way.
On that note, England deserved to be laughed at for failing to qualify for Euro 2008 (it’s even worse considering that Israel had already done us a huge favour by beating Russia), the Netherlands deserved to be a laughed at for failing to qualify for Euro 2016 with 24 teams etc. On an individual level, the funniest was probably the USA failing to qualify for the 2018 World Cup from the relatively weak CONCACAF confederation with its forgiving format, failing to get a draw against a crisis-ridden T&T team I’m suffering a disastrous run of form.

I think the last few euros show how average tournament is compared to the World Cup
Very watchable but Italy & Portugal really weren’t that great & won’t be remembered as such. Very well organised though and that’s what it’s all about I guess
there’s a lot of bang average international teams succeeding these days hopefully the WC will be better but that’s greatly tarnished too due to off field issues

Italy and Portugal were not the same, Italy were the best side in all of their matches except one(?), Portugal were hardly better than the opponent in several of their matches, and should have been soundly defeated by France in the final.
Italy subsequently proved themselves even more bang average v Switzerland & north Macedonia
portugals main tactic was tiring teams out & springing fast wingers late in game & extra time
both teams deserved their euro triumphs but both are ultimately nothing special

Italy had a much better run for their Euro victory, that Italy has lost steam since the Euro win doesn't change this fact.
Portugal rode their luck, while again, Italy i think was the best side in all of their matches except against Spain.

That's a complement because Arsenal are decent right now. And most of the Arsenal fans on Redcafe are engaging and level-headed posters (with a couple notable exceptions).

Somehow the goofy cnut has hoodwinked most of England into thinking we are doing well because of him rather than in spite of him.
This can't be more far from the truth. He picked his tactics wrong against Italy that is correct. But he took a worn down side that got spanked by Iceland in 2016 and turned them into a back oriented team since the likes of Henderson and Dyre arent really world beaters in the midfield and went as far as 4th and 2nd in the last two major competitions

I think that's fair. He made england better by focusing on the basics. I believe that if they want to become truly an elite side they will need an upgrade on Southgate. Not sure he can really unlock the most technically astute attackers (Sancho, Foden, Saka, Etc.). But if he wins something or starts playing decent football (i found England, the Germany match aside, dire to watch), then i will hold my hands up and admit i was was wrong.

I haven't followed his career that closely but Chiesa really looked a different class at the Euros and I think they missed him the other night?
Italy were the best team at the Euros but that defence is getting older and they didn't seem to have much in the way of a striker.

Italy is a bit overrated in Euros. They won 2 games on pens and one in extra time. Impressed in the group stage yes, but had a fairly easy group.
Could easily gone the other way in most games. England more dominant I say before the final and that final was very close.
I’m fecking disapointed with Italian attackers, they absolutely terribly shit especially Ciro and Berardi. Another appointment, I also think Mancini send too much controlling-midfielder in this game maybe he should cut Jorginho to bench due to his similarity to Verrati ( in term of playing style).
