James Wilson | On Loan to Brighton and Hove Albion

About two months too late. Should have been sent out on loan the day we got Martial. No point in him hanging around if he can't even get game time ahead of Fellaini as a striker.

Best of luck to him. Good chance to get some regular football and try to prove himself.

Yep.

Can someone who follows the Championship tell me who Brighton have as strike options? They have Zamora as far as I know, anyone else? And what kind of system do they use?

About time.

Hope he gets his chance to shine at Brighton and stays injury free. Will be quite interesting how he does.

What's his competition like there?

This just goes to show that he was never a viable option for LVG this season.

So, striking options remaining this season: Rooney, Martial, Fellaini... Rashford?

Memphis, but LVG has said he's better centrally so obviously he'll never play there again.

Great move for him. He'll get far more chances (I don't just mean appearances either) at Brighton.

For us this is a joke decision after selling Hernandez and loaning out Januzaj. Let's hope Martial stays fit.

I'm a season ticket holder

There's Zamora and Hemed who are target men and Baldock who is currently injured, he will play in baldocks position in a 4 4 2 alongside either Zamora or Hemed up front

I see Brighton are 2nd in the championship and are generally doing well but don't look like they have a prolific goal scorer there. Could be an excellent move for Wilson, hope he gets plenty of playing time and does well there.

Good to see us loan a player to a an English team who are doing well and play attacking football. It always seems to be a struggling Wigan or QPR who play horrid stuff.

Brighton started the season well but are struggling a bit now and the goals have dried up. They've only won 3 of their last 10, but they've not lost any of the last 10 either. They're a solid outfit who play good football, but missing a bit of end product. Hopefully Wilson will be the missing piece. Would be good to see him get plenty of starts and score goals.

About fecking time. Brighton are doing really good and their strikers seem pretty shit so thats good for Willo. Baldock injured too so should get plenty of time.

This is fantastic. They are second in the league and it's the perfect platform for him. I think we have a January signing agreed too.

How long is Baldock out for? You reckon it will be Wilson + zamora/hemed or will the 2 be shoehorned?

They're second in the league, not bad at all. Here's hoping he gets consistent game time. I've got plenty of time for Wilson.

Good for Wilson. Hope he'll get a good run there, that's what he deserves.

What about us though?

Good move for him. Lingard supposedly enjoyed his loan spell there so he probably had a word.

This is a loan that actually makes sense. He's got a lot of potential and just needs to get used to the physicality of first team football, if Brighton give him a chance I am confident he will take it.

Cheers. Sounds like he'll get a fair chance from the start to stake his claim then, up to him to impress after that.

Joint top of the Championship. If he can get regular starts there, it would be a really good move.
Hope he does well. And hope Brighton finish 2nd and get promoted too :D

No one is sure, but I'm sure Wilson will get plenty of playing time just like Lingard did. Zamora and Hemed are both quite slow so it will probably only be one of them playing

This is not great news IMO. We're playing Fellaini as a backup striker and we only have Rooney and Martial...well Martial...as genuine number 9s. That would bother me if I was Wilson. I don't think LVG rates him
