To be fair, I do think this ignores that a lot of European countries have electoral systems which allow for multi-party politics to a far greater extent.
The French socialists, for example, may only have 6%, but in the UK they'd likely be made up of Hamon voters, Melenchon voters, and even some slightly left-wing Macron voters.
Similar can be said for the SPD in Germany, with the likes of Die Linke (if that's what they're called) and the Greens presumably helping to deplete their vote share.
But still, very impressive performance from Corbyn all in.
Yeah I sorta knew before posting the tweet, that it wasn't completely accurate. Still pretty impressive though.With all the attention the UK is currently getting I hope some of those left parties on the continent take some inspiration from Corbyn.
Noteworthy though that those aren't the only left parties in those countries. SPD need to share the left vote with Greens and Linke for instance (which would currently probably still fall short of Corbyns % combined together).
Also rumours going around that Labour membership is ''closing in on a million'' members
