Yeah, he's well able to travel with the ball at his feet, pick a pass and keep moving. The trouble is he never seems to get the return ball which I think could pay dividends.

There are probably quite a few defenders on the list who are still better than him but i'm not sure many clubs have 2 defenders on that list so still think he would make most teams maybe not all of them but he isn't a certain started for United although i am becoming more and more of the belief that he should be as the Rio/Vidic partnership has had it's day and the 2 with Smalling should be battling to partner Evans now who is quite clearly the future.
Lethal in the area. Doubled his goal tally from last season already, can he be stopped?
Thought he had a very good game, class defender.
Yeah, I'm at work so I was flicking over and back to a stream, but he looked very comfortable and after a swing and a miss took the goal well.
He's got the face of a 5 year old but when he scores he goes mental. Love it.
Brilliant 2nd half
He never looked dangerous at corners in last few years, now he has something to say at every corner.
I dunno I always thought he got in to good areas and was quite unlucky. One of those players which I think now that he's got that first will be good for a few goals.
I still think he could do a bit better from them. He had a great chance vs. Stoke and nearly messed up the one tonight.

His shot against Stoke was good, but keeper did great. Tonight his goal was excellent really, he had three of four players around him.
I was on about the header he had in the second half. He had a free header and headed it directly at the keeper.

He headed back across goal as the keeper was coming across to stop it. Should have scored, but not the criminal miss it looked like on first viewing.
Yeah, probably should have put it back across the goalie but ultimately it was excellent anticipation and reflexes by the goalie. Important thing is that Evans always seems to get in to good areas in the box.
Lynk, our centre half is scoring goals and playing well in defence, and your only comment is that he should be doing better. If you had put it like this you wouldn't have sounded like such a hater,

Yep. Thing is, prior to RVP we never really had someone who could hit those areas consistently.

Nail hit on head. Imagine what we'll be like with both Vidic and Evans attacking those perfect RVP corners.
The finish was pretty cheeky. I think it was quite a clever bit of skill to even attempt to hit a ball at goal there and get something.

He was always good at getting to them, his problems in the last few seasons was his headers always going straight at the keeper. He's improved at it and it's showing this season.
I'm sure he will perform well against Chelsea
His passing is really impressive. Kept the pressure on Braga with interceptions and passes that pushed the whole team forward. I might be wrong but he wasn't wasteful in possession and produced a couple of really sweet long passes.
He has always been excellent on the ball. Very much a ball playing defender, which we've lacked at times.
I'm starting to think he should be first choice when all our defenders are fit. Turning in to an excellent all round centre half.

He has always been a good passer and ball-playing central defender. But the defensive display today wasn't exactly sparkling. Yes, he had two fullbacks who charge forward at every possible opportunity. Yes, he had Carrick next to him. Yes, he wasn't particularly to blame for either goal although he could have taken charge on the first one. But no, I'm not rating him above Rio or Vidic yet, both of whom radiate calm and organization throughout the side when they are on the pitch, no matter who they are partnered with.
He has improved but I doubt he will ever reach the heights of Vidic or Rio (in their different ways). Then again I'm fearful that Vidic will never regain his former glory.

I support United first and foremost, Roy Carroll lived not far from me, didnt stop me thinkin he was shite.Vidic has suffered from major injuries and isn't getting any younger, its possible he might never reach the same level again. Ferdinand is almost 34 and is starting to look vulnerable against pacy attackers. I'm starting to feel more assured now with Evans in the side. He keeps the ball well, reads the game well, and has started to threaten coming forward and at set pieces.
He played well second half and seemed a lot more composed and encouragingly, positive in his decision making. The first 20 minutes though he was as dozy and sluggish as the rest of the team. Should have done better for Braga's second his anticipation was poor.

All depends on how well Ferdinand is playing. At his best he's still a million miles ahead
You reckon? I think its always been the strongest part of Evans game. I'd rate him as proactive whereas Vidic is more reactive. Ferdinands one of the best i've seen at reading the game, no arguments there.
I'm not convinced by Rio at the minute. Think injuries and age have taken their toll. Think he's fine against lesser teams (like Liverpool) but against pace and power i think his mobility could cost us similar to Tottenham. Chelsea on sunday will be a good test.

Evans is fantastic at reading the game, as are both Rio and Vidic with Rio clearly being the best of them. I'd probably put Evans ahead of Vidic though in this aspect.
Two of his strongest attributes, its why he's almost always closest to the ball when we concede a goal and its not his man. He reads the situation that someone has lost them, just often can't get there.
A lot of the goals that come from his mistakes are due to positioning rather than bad marking from a set piece or being beaten.
