Which manager you know that's been successful with mediocre players?
The drop of form of some of Chelsea best players has them languishing near the bottom of the log...average manager?
David beckham leaving and Keane being past it led to 3 barren years for us under Sir Alex? Isn't he the ultimate winner?
Since Viera and Bergkamp connection ended Arsenal have struggled to win anything under Arsene Wenger, what does that say about his credentials?
Simeone lost Costa, Luis and Courtois and his team didn't look a threat in any major competition after winning the title and reaching the Cl final, average?
After losing lots of talented footballers Klopp lead his team to not qualifying for the CL...you wouldn't have had him here either now would you?
Milan went into pieces cause he had bang average players and lots of older lads who could give him what he needed anymore. Managers aren't magicians. Give them terrible ingredients and they are deffo giving you a terrible meal. Same thing has happened wit Juve this season. There's no coach that's winning too much with the likes of Sturaro getting regular game time, mind you he's managed to beat City and Sevilla with this team.
You are giving extreme examples. What happened to Dortmund last season and happening with Chelsea now is due to more than just a loss of form from players, or the departure of one player. Simeone managed a credible 3rd place La Liga finish and CL's quarter appearance, that's par achieved for Atletico. No one expected them to win La Liga and get to another CL final even if no 1st teamer departs.
Fergie and Wenger were blown away for a while by Roman's money and Mourinho's managerial acumen. The former managed to build a great side from young players, cheap punts and existing veterans, whereas the latter was constrained by a new stadium debt.
Allegri just folded after Ibra left. Part of his downfall was by selling Pirlo to Juve. In a still terrible Serie A back then as well. He lucked out on the CL last year and won the league with Conte's team. This season he's been allowed to spend to replace Vidal and Tevez but the side still plummetted.
Just not a very good manager
