Lots of talk of Ibrahimovic of course, and time will tell with him. Who else do you think he'll try to sign, and, just importantly, who will he will want rid of? Will Mata still have a future at the club, for example?

He'll certainly be signing a striker and a centre half; are there are any names who stand out to you as being his type of players?

I have no clue who will leave and come. I look forward to the summer circus. I don't like summer windows that overlap with major championships though.

In: Ibrahimovic, Stones, Pogba, Griezmann

Out: Mata, Fellaini, Rojo, Valdes

Really hope we keep mata. And fellaini actually.

Would sooner sell herrera than either.

Rojo can sod off though.

Valdes Rojo Darmain 1st hopefully
Fellaini Herrera Mata Adnan 2nd group (not fussed with these guys if they stay or go)

I think we will sign:

That Greek defender he wanted at Chelsea
James Rodriguez (the marquee August signing)
Ross Barkley

Sell:

Rojo

We won't sign a striker despite media belief that we will. Rooney is a bit similar to Benzema/Costa imo

Doubt we will see many exits. Possibly Young, probably the likes of Blackett and Powell. I think Wilson could leave too but I wouldn't be surprised if the club opt to send him for another year loan for PR reasons.

I'd love for us to get Pogba, but he seems bound for Real Madrid at one point or another. Stones is definitely a possibility. Ibrahimovic looks quite likely at this stage, which would be kinda brilliant for entertainment value even if he doesn't deliver. Would love to see him here.

Can't see Mourinho keeping Fellaini. While his more 'dirty' style of play could be said to suit Mourinho, Jose also typically likes tactically disciplined sides, and you don't get that with someone like Fellaini who's tactical discipline is awful.

Wouldn't be shocked if he's not too bothered about Mata either. Not sure he'll deliberately set out to sell him as such, but I could see a side like Atletico perhaps being interested. If that happens, Mourinho would probably be fine to let him leave.

I'd expect the time of long-term meh players like Valencia and Young to be under threat, but Mourinho may see uses for them.

Did you renew your season ticket in the end?

I have a secret.

I renewed it last month (weeks after making my thread) because I rang up and some great seats in the South Stand cropped up.

Regretted it everyday since that day until LVG got sacked and we got Jose!

There isn't a single cell in my body that doubts we will sign a striker.

Duncan Castles, who seems well in with Mendes, says Mou is looking at a centre half, centre midfielder and a centre forward, and he is not looking to dismantle the United squad.

I doubt Depay and Rojo will survive this summer. Mata and Fellaini will stay as good options from the bench as we're not in position to sign many top quality players to replace them. Mourinho will address every weakness in the squad this summer I hope (RW, ST, CM, CB and possibly RB).

I really hope this doesn't happen

Maybe. I wouldn't bet on it or anything. But I think with Rooney as the type of striker he likes already here, he might focus on strengthening the other attacking position(s) instead

I think Jose might be in for a shock, thinking he will be able to sign who he wants because it is Manchester United. He might find we don't have the pulling power he thinks we have. James and Benzema have already said they want to stay at Madrid, I wonder why. Doesn't mean they will get their own way of course. Aubameyang moving has been denied by Dortmund. Barkley might be the standard we sign, someone who has been poor this season and who cannot get into the England side ahead of a crock, Henderson or Lallana and has no chance further forward.

I think he will go for Stones as he chased him at Chelsea for a couple of windows. Smalling needs a partner I know Blind done well there at times but he is rather small for CB.
Rojo just doesn't do it for me I can't wait for Shaw to be back fit be like a brand new player.
Don't really think we need a striker as Rashford is doing well, Martial is class and we could use Rooney if required. Could do with a B2B midfielder and we definitely need a world class RW my dream would be Griezmann but I doubt he will leave his current club.

The ideal situation really, but highly unlikely even if we did get champions league. Ibra and stones should be possible though and hopefully we'll find a decent right winger , that should be our priority. Lingard is a good option but shouldn't be our key player in that position and Mata is simply ineffective there. Still have hope Januzaj will turn a corner soon but that might be wishful thinking.

I really don't think so. The allure of United and Mourinho in combination will ensure we get some excellent signings, IMHO. We need a world class centre half and goalscorer, which must be Jose's priority.

That is what I am thinking as well. He is not stupid and knows it will be too disruptive and that LvG was playing a strange type of football. I am being negative about signings as some are going overboard because it's Jose and I would rather be realistic than be disappointed. A Zlatan would lift my spirits. I think that a lot of young uns might go out on loan. The Sunday People is saying that Boro fancy having TFM and Pereira on loan, which would be good for them, PL football under someone Jose knows well.

Whoever we sell depends on who we bring in... It's not like we have a big squad. Rojo isn't very good, but then again, it's not like it's great depth at the back so he might stay. Fellaini won't be much more then a bench player but again, he adds height and strength which might make Mou hold off on selling him until we strengthen a bit first. Mata is also the big question mark given their past, but I think he'll stay for now.

As for incomings... Ibrahimovic (or another striker possibly), one of Manolas/Stones/Varane, a midfielder or possibly 2 (Pogba/Krychowiak/Joao Mario/Matic or other players we've been linked with), and a right winger probably. Though for the right winger, we may target someone like Griezmann/James who can play there but are better as the 10 given there is a shot at getting them and there isn't too many quality right wingers available.

Yes we do need a world class CB, however I would not class Manolas as that. He might however suit Jose. Zlatan might be the striker, but he will only be short term. So we either have to hope Rashford becomes world class or someone else crops up in 12-24 months.

Why wouldn't depay survive ? We only bought him last summer and was considered to be one of the most promising wingers in Europe. One shitty season at his age (and first season in the P.L) shouldn't warrant an exit from this club already.

I know we all want players like Pogba, Griezmann...

But what's the most Mourinho has splashed in a player?

What if he decides against wingers as such?

I don't think he's got what it takes to succeed here and I doubt Mourinho will be patient with him. My opinion is we should get rid but I can see him staying considering how little time Jose will have to assess the squad.

I'm int he same boat. Mata is quality and despite not being his best, has been one our best players here. Fellaini is a true fighter. Even when everything has been going bad, he's given his best on the pitch and gotten us results. We got to the FA cup final because of Fellaini.

There has to be at least 4 exits, otherwise the squad will be massive.

Jones, rojo, herrera, memphis, McNair, varela, Fellaini and adnan, i expect at least half of them to be sold.

You have to remember that some of the squad will be on holiday during pre-season as will some of the players he might fancy signing depending what happens with the Euros and Copa America.
