Well it's obvious that tactics and changes for Burnley won't be the same as playing against United. Against Burnley you can throw everything at them because the likelihood of them hitting you on the break is less (due to the lack of quality).

I find it hard to buy into the idea that switching from a midfield three to a two (adding another striker) would've improved our chances of winning it, because I think that it would've strengthened United's position and weakened ours.

I'm not working under the assumption that we would've scored with a midfield three, but I don't think throwing another attacking player on for a midfielder would've helped in that game.

I don't disagree that you open up would give us the chance. The point is there was a notion that L'pool gave everything to win. In reality you didn't take that extra risk. What you said exactly explained the pragmatism in Klopp thinking, that's also what Mourinho implied.

And as I explained in previous post, given L'pool's scoring form and the quality downgrading subs Klopp made, Klopp gave up the idea to go for the kill in the end since even at your best in the game you couldn't score. You didn't increase the chance to win , instead you went and decreased that chance.

Edit: I meant looking at it this way. Klopp style is proclaiming to give everything regardless opposition. Mourinho didn't deny that his style is to adapt to opposition. What Mourinho implied is that Klopp didn't give everything like he proclaimed, so Mourinho being Mourinho can only adapt so much to Klopp's version of pragtacism
 
The way united played was almost as if we were playing a tough away game while missing two or three key players and those that did play had only had 48 hours after traveling back from four corners of the globe......

I actually like Pep more than Klopp now. The latter is being a genuine cnut nowadays. I guess being part of Liverpool does that to you.

I used to take the mickey out of Hodgeson, Dalglish, Beneitiz, & Rodgers, as recent Liverpool managers, but never disliked them. Klopp is different, & am beginning to despise him, every time I see him. His profile is nice & popular, but I don't think he is at all.

It’s the joint biggest. Marseille and someone else both managed 0-7 away wins at certain points in the CL. I think BATE were one of the opponents.

Haha, of course! When a team stops them it's - they didn't try to play football but when he wins he compliments the other team. :lol:
 
Pretty sure that´s the biggest loss in Maribor´s history, but Maribor were never particularly good at home against English teams. Last two times they only managed draws against Chelsea and Tottenham.:p

That Maribor team was miles better than this one. Back then they had a prime Tavares and probably their best player in current years the technically gifted Ibraimi - whom fecked off because Zahovic insulted him via phone messages :wenger::lol:
 
You can only beat whats put in front of you. Trying to trivialise a 7-0 away win in the Champions League is fooling nobody. Liverpool played well and scored 7. Any team would be happy with that

LOL yes, I've noticed this, too.
In a nutshell when an opposition manager is really frustrated/angry (after playing us), this should be an indication that we played well and set up our tactics well.
Perhaps Jose did the right thing in that LFC game?

And BTW, congrats to Liverpool and their fans. Scoring 7 goals in a game (even if it is to poor opposition), is no mean feat. Well done. I'd love us to score 7 in a game, but in recent times, that hasn't happened.

...and there isn't anything wrong with adapting to the opposition.
I know that a lot of fans want us to stamp our own style of play on a game (like Arsenal), but they need to remember that we are trying to win the league title, which means that Jose will want to take as few risks as possible.
IMO, the way Jose is playing should be sustainable throughout the season, ie. draw away and win at home to top teams, while beating lesser sides home and away.
The same cannot be said about MCFC. When their form drops, I can see them losing a few games (possibly 1-0) as they do have a great emphasis on attack.
I personally love attacking teams, but I also realise that we are not a top team anymore (7th, 4th, 5th, 6th tells me this), so for us to win the title, we need to play a more pragmatic style of football.
 
Liverpool were incredible last night. I think they'll reach the CL Semi finals at the very least but I do fancy them to win it this season.
