Why would he get charged? He clearly refained from saying anything controversial as he himself admitted he would get the worlds biggest fine. What he said about the reeree was spot on.They really don't know their jobs fully and need to be taught.
This is the reason I love to watch them fail more than any other club.
Because other managers have been banned from the sideline before for saying the things he said. Doesn't matter whether you think he was 'spot on' or not. It is clear that Klopp is the FA's little pet.

but he (or anyone) then comes back to onside before they then go for the ball & get the ball, you could probably make the decision either way
1 - he was offside when the ball was played & gained possession
or
2 - it's a new phase of play because the player goes back onside & makes a definite separate movement, no advantage was actually gained from being in the offside position in the first place

VAR would check. If their image shows him to be offside, even by 1 millimeter, they would call the offside.

Jon Moss and his assistant were worried about Lovren but dear old Richard Keys believed Wijnaldum played Kane onside for Spurs first penalty. Moot point as Kane missed the penalty mind you.

I just think it shows what a shambles the whole offside decision is. In the old days before we had moron pundits poring over slow motion footage, Kane would have just been called offside & that would have been it. Now we have a whole circus around it.

it's classic manager diversion tactics by Klopp. His team were poor in the 2nd half and no-one is mentioning that. Same after the West Brom defeat, post match analysis was all re VAR and not the actual performance. Liverpool fans say that KARIUS and VVD played well. I think Karius did ok but at the end of the day he was badly at fault for a goal and give away a penalty. VVD did play well but conceded a penalty in injury time that cost them all 3 pts. Therein lies the difference between top players and good players, they are focused for the whole game, not parts of it. We know ourselves, anyone of Rojo, Smalling and Jones can be having a great game and than do one stupid thing that can prove costly. Klopp is smart, no-ones really talking VVD right now. I've followed this lad back when he played at Celtic, he's a good player no doubt, but he's good for at least 1 major feck up per game and that was back even when he played against poor teams in Scotland. The post match analysis when we lost to Spurs was all how poor we were etc and rightly so. Not seeing that same type of analysis re Liverpool's 2nd half and Klopp's perpetual moaning is taking care of that
The first penalty wasn't scored, so irrespective of the circumstances it was given in it had no consequences on the result.

I think it's a little sad that we've got to a point in football where we stare at slow motion video for 5 minutes to see if a ball brushed against a defenders leg in order to determine if a player was offside. There must be a better rule that can be used for offside.

There is, if you are offside, you are offside. The whole phase of play thing its tedious.
@montpelier you're needlessly overcomplicating things. If lamela is offside, when llorente flicks the ball, it's offside. Nothing happens to reset the play.

I don't think that applies anymore though - the header goes nowhere near him, so that wouldn't get flagged, he clearly gets back onside & then sets off for the ball - you distinctly see his movements doing that, there is a step & to the side & then he runs for the ball.
I think it's debatable even under the circumstances that it proceeds to a VAR - matter of opinion anyway, I'm not saying I'm definitely right.
And back in the simpler real world, it just never gets spotted, obviously.
He's not being punished because once he does he'll have a discipline on his record and the FA will have no choice but to punish him for every incident going forward, wouldn't be as bad as they are with Jose but they wouldn't be able to turn a blind eye like they are doing here. Which it will be the same thing next time he does it, FA will look the other way on the basis he has no discipline history. I mean that's the only thing I can think of why he wouldn't be charged with bringing the game into disrepute with his comments.

Liverpool may not have won the premier league in ages, but they lead the league in the Pundit Cup. It’s the only reason Klopp can escape punishment for “the middle of interest” comment. That comment would be enough to suspend any manager in any european league, except Klopp. I would hope Scholes, or Keane, who never hesitate to criticize even our own United players and tactics, would have the guts to call out the FA for pandering to the media.

No man, that's not how offside works. If Lamela is offside when llorente touches the ball, he's offside. The only way he can get back onside is if the play ends and a new one begins. Since that doesn't happen he's offside
