I really don't like Klopp, but man you're talking about a bloke who has won two Bundesliga titles and reached two CL finals with underdog sides, in what world is he a serial loser?
He talks shit sometimes, like most coaches, and has a poor final record but these armchair psychology jobs that football fans are obsessed with doing on top coaches/players are so bizarre.

The wind is in head right now. This title race is far from over but let's enjoy the score....it was what, 8 years ago now? Then he got dominated by Pep in the Bundesliga as soon as he arrived. And basically resigned in shame after finishing 7th with Dortmund in his final season.
That's literally all he's ever won.
So many managers just seem to get shirty very easily instead of just answering what could be a slightly interesting question. He's as bad as Jose for it though.

Ok .. ? It's not like he's managed massive favourites. Pep had a better team and far greater resources than Klopp at Dortmund. Two league titles and a domestic cup in Germany would suggest he isn't a serial loser, would it not?
He's managed Mainz, Dortmund and took over a broken Liverpool squad and has made them title challengers against a juggernaut City side with almost limitless resources, it's hardly him being a serial loser is it? I don't think reaching two CL finals is being a serial loser either, even if you do lose them you have to do a hell of a lot of winning against great sides to get there.
Clearly he is a top coach who has previously won titles and I don't see anything to suggest he won't win more going forward, still a pretty young manager. It just feels a little ridiculous to be calling a man who has won league titles a serial loser because he's lost a couple of CL finals where his team were a clear underdog.
Christ, this has got me defending the man. Look, I think he's a bit of a tit and he blames dumb shit like the wind, but clearly he's a wanker who also happens to be a great coach.

Yeah it is weird 'people don't like it' well don't fecking mention it then, you know it's going to be mocked in the press and lead you nowhere, so why bother?
I feel like maybe it's to distract people from a poor performance so everyone focuses on funny Klopp blaming the wind again, but on the other hand I really do doubt it's that premeditated. It feels like he can't help but make a lame excuse for a bad result.

So Klopp's last success came in 2011/12. That is ancient in today's footballing world. It's like assuming Roberto Di Matteo must be a good coach today because he won the UCL that season.
You know, with Mourinho you also thought he can't be for real with some of the stuff he said and is playing 4D chess to distract the media. Top coaching job just attract some extreme characters.
No it isn't, it's nothing like that and you know it.
Di Matteo took over a team and managed to fluke a cup, then was poor in every job following that. Klopp built a team from scratch to win two titles on a tight budget, has moved to Liverpool and has built another team capable of challenging for the league. He's clearly a top coach and not comparable to a one hit wonder like Di Matteo, not even remotely.
Question Klopp's character all you like, he can be a dick, but he's done fantastic work at Dortmund and Liverpool. You're acting like he's just disappeared off the map since 11/12 when in reality he took a little break and then took over a Liverpool side which nobody could have expected to challenge for titles in the short term.
I actually liked Klopp at BVB. I assume many did as well and surely many wanted him to manage us at one point (me included). He looked a pretty likeable and energetic manager with great tactics and building out of nothing to win leagues and trophies. I don't if his character is getting exposed in England more or Liverpool changed him to worse but he has become insanely unlikable since he took that job. Don't think it's a case of just hating anything rival related because I don't hate Pep.
"A little break"? He lost three Bundesliga in a row in spectacular fashion. First by 25 points, then 19, then by 33. He cheated the league for two seasons with his gimmick Gegenpress (which I'm sure was a really smart trick back in 2011), then the other managers caught on and that was that. He even had a little meltdown and went on a Keegan like rant about how Bayern were "copying" his tactics like "the Chinese".
He's on his fourth season with Liverpool now and this is the first time he's even close to challenging. Four years is short term? That's longer than Pep's entire Barca spell ffs. If he doesn't pull it off now, that's half a decade. Almost a dynasty.

Spectacular fashion? He was up against Bayern Munich, they completely boss the Bundesliga. Clearly it started to go sour towards the end at Dortmund (which can happen for any manager) but that doesn't undo the fantastic work he did there overall. Cheated the league? Managers only caught on after two seasons? Come on, what is this nonsense ffs. He built a very good team who won two titles and in his third season reached a CL final, he didn't cheat anything. All managers make stupid comments.
Four years is short term when he's taking over a Liverpool side out of the CL who were getting spanked 6-1 by Stoke the season before, yes. His back 5 for the final against Sevilla in his first season was Moreno, Toure, Lovren, Clyne and Mignolet. That side needed a ton of investment and time, first he turned them in to a top 4 team and now he's turned them in to title challengers. Comparing him to Guardiola who had Messi, Xavi, Iniesta etc and Barcelona and has gone to ready made teams at Bayern and City since is absurd. Give Klopp his credit, he doesn't go in to teams ready made for his rival and with infinite resources.
And what, if he doesn't win the league this season he's a bad coach, despite this City team getting 100 points last season, being led by the coach of our generation and with almost infinite resources? That's ludicrous, nobody else in the league is even coming close. Despite being a massive weapon he's doing a fantastic job there and it's quite clear to anybody remotely rational that he is a top manager. Christ, he has his team sat in 2nd a point behind a side people were arguing were the best PL team ever last season and you're acting like his methods are garbage and he's past it.

Fair enough on the number of Barca seasons. But those 4 seasons are widely considered a dynasty in the history of Barca. And yet that same number of seasons gets called "short term" when it comes to one of the biggest clubs in England? I guess some people really have fallen for the saintly media portrait of Klopp.

The self-promotion is a bit much but Klopp deserves credit for bringing Liverpool close to lifting major trophies. Close, but no cigar.

4 seasons to take a team from outside the CL spots to a genuine title challenge is not a long period of time. Liverpool are a big club but haven't won a title in the PL era and when he took over were in pretty dire straits, with a lot of work needed on the squad, he also took over mid season. I don't think you'll find many Liverpool fans complaining about him, which is generally a good sign.
It's a case of you clearly don't like the man, but in my opinion you're allowing that to mask the fact that clearly he's a good manager.

I'm not saying he's bad but I think you and many in the media are massively underrating the size of Liverpool as a club and what should be achievable with those resources. To have 0 Premier League titles is criminally incompetent and not indicative of what that club can do. Mounting 1 title challenge within 4 seasons (while sacrificing the cups to do so and having just won £150m from a lottery ticket) is perfectly reasonable and not this massive unexpected genius feat that the media makes it out to be.
No one can deny that he (or whoever is really pulling the strings on such matters at Liverpool) has bought well, and that will take you far on player quality alone. But his tactical prowess is massively overrated from a short stint 7-8 years ago when he genuinely brought something new to the table. Something that has subsequently been copied and is now commonplace.

I think he's a motivator more than a great tactician. He got everyone on his side and fired up last season. In terms of football, he set them to play very positively, press hard, win the ball back and run. Lots of attack from the fullbacks and quick fluidity from the forwards.
He doesn't know what to do when that doesn't work though. When they tire or the opposition are set up well. And now, the players aren't buzzing like they were last season. I think he'll struggle next season because it's hard to keep everyone all guns blazing mentally and that seems to be how he needs them to be. He already seems to be struggling with that.
After that it wouldn't surprise me if he uses the same line as when he left Dortmund - "this club deserves to be coached by the 100% right manager" and buggers off.
Can you really blame Klopp? To be fair to them, they actually did fairly well, taking into account that they were outnumbered 11 vs 12 throughout whole game; Liverpool XI vs Everton XI + MOTM Wind

I won't blame Klopp. When you have so many players like like Herrera, Matic, Martial, Lingard missing, it's hard to play with high tempo and create chances.
He's paid the world record transfer twice you know.
His point still stands, Klopp was massively outgunned by Pep while he was at Dortmund, and concering his Liverpool tenure, since Klopp joined Liverpool, City have spent around 525m, Liverpool 384m. Yes Klopp has still spent a lot, but the City side Pep took over was superior to the side Klopp took over and since then Guardiola has significantly outspent him. It will be impressive if Klopp manages to win the premier league this season against this City side and a world class manager like Guardiola.
He has quite a bunch of very dynamic players, but obviously they’re not Aero enough to deal with wind resistance.

Having said that, I’d rather United took an absolute battering than see us win them the league. I’d never forgive my club if a win against City awarded these cnuts the Premier League.
A 1-0 loss in this scenario would be ideal. An obvious own goal by Phil Jones would be the icing on the cake.
