No chance will Smalling go out on loan. We paid £10 million for him. Hard to see why so far. We need to brace ourselves with the fact that he will start games and be learning on the job and we will ship goals because he is so raw and unaware.

Some of the stuff posted on here though is way over the top. Smalling seems to have been written off by some already on the basis of the small amount of game time in this tour.

I've never rated Gibson, He is a lame centre midfielder but could keep a place in our squad. Rafael and smalling are young and learning. De laet will be sold within 2 years though.

Who can blame him? Some players making less than $60,000 a season and they are beating Manchester United in front of the biggest crowd most of them have ever played in front of. Friendly or not, it's a big deal for those guys.
The referee has been horrible. The red card was totally unnecessary in a friendly, and he's been getting decision after decision wrong. I think he's in love with the spotlight.
