La Liga 2013-2014

Seriously, that pressing is ridiculous, no way they can play like that in every game. Watch them losing next game against mediocre side.

Toquero is a fecking idiot. Doesn't pass to Susaeta for an open goal, takes it to the corner for all of 3 seconds.

Nevertheless, Athletic win! Woooo!

they say that about every Barca youngster since 2008. On a scale of Romeu to Iniesta how do you rate him?

Really not qualified enough to say, mate. I just know that there were strong rumours Chelsea were coming in with a bid to sign him when he was 19.

Toquero just puts a smile on your face with his endeavour. He got the ball there through pressing on the edge of the box and actively sprinted with it to the corner with nobody around him then miscontrolled it out of play

Almost 20 months after Pep resigns, crisis rears it's head. Lot of questions to answer and have to say, Tata's job security just took a nose dive

 Toquero... I remember a few years back when he scored both goals in a 2-0 win at Atletico. Doubt he's scored since.

Bit of an over reaction? I've hardly watched Barca these last two months to be honest, haven't had as much time as before, but they have an almost perfect record in the league?

Why can't we just get 2 of these fancy ball playing midfielders form mid table La Liga sides? The Bilbao midfielders are like the opposite of Fellaini.

Gauge the fallout in the coming week or so, it'll be exactly that. Fans weren't happy with the way the team was playing even when they were winning, even club officials concurred. Tata thought the local press was over demanding during his win streak, wait until he endures the coming weeks

Real are picking form just as Barca are losing a bit of steam. Proper title race on again. Early in the season it looked like Barca were going to walk the league again.

I have been watching them and they have been pretty good in all fairness. They were scoring goals for fun at a rate of more than 3 goals per game. However, since Messi has been injured, they have been devoid of ideas, both in the Champions league and la liga. It is rare that Barcelona lose two matches like that and to be honest, it is not looking good for Tata at the moment. With Messi out, he has to count on Neymar, Pedro and Alexis to take over the amount of work Messi does and no-one is taking the bull by the horns. There is very little cohesion between Xavi, Iniesta and Neymar too. I like Neymar, but he started well, but that was when Messi was playing. Since Messi has been injured, and especially the Ajax game and this one, Neymar has done very little to enhance his reputation.

The crisis comes from the Barca press - a lot of negativity about Tata, despite his near perfect record prior to this week.

You've got to wonder how much of it is coming from the players. He's trying to change style as well as personnel and it's being treated as if it's an insult to Guardiola and Cruyff that he's been able to get the results without the team looking its normal classy self.

If they can pin Messi's injury on him they will.

How was Herrera

Whoscored said he only had 65% pass accuracy, which sounds shocking, but he seems to have been playing in an advanced role which is always susceptible to poor passing.

Maybe not the answer to our midfield problem all the same?

Well, if this game taught us anything it's that Valverde sure seems to have Barça's number...

He hasn't lost against them in 7 league games, 2W, 5D, with 4 different clubs as well (Espanyol, Villarreal, Valencia & now Athletic). Although at Espanyol was still in the Rijkaard era, I believe. The rest since 2009.

He's just lost his first league game after a ridiculous start and has even win the clasico. Yet his job is under threat.

Right back at ya

Barca fans are better than Madrid fans when it comes to being spoilt but not by as much as you would like to think. No other team's fans would be even considering the coach leaving if they were leading the league by 1 point and already in CL knockouts. Italians and German are much better than Spaniards in general when it comes to talking about football. I used to cringe every 10 seconds while talking to Real or Barca fans.

For the record, Isco is an amazing player. Scary that he is only 21. He has it all, he can pass, beat players and score. Toss up between him and Gotze for me.

Yeah, I used to think Isco was just another Spanish magician and Gotze was on another level but I've swiftly changed my mind. He's amazing.

Yeah, no one could generalize about English fans either
