Labour MP Jo Cox shot | RIP Jo Cox

Just heard the news, terrible. :(

I don't really want to waste bandwidth on the cowardly attacker, however it is likely that constituent-MP interaction will forever be changed as a result of this. Not before time some mights say, but it will be a loss nonetheless.

This is a very disturbing and sad story. My heart goes out to her family.

He's right about keeping it out of the campaign, but he's a racist piece of scum in general.

RIP.

He also used it for his campaign before saying it should be kept out of the campaign.

Seriously messed up. What kind of fecking country are we when something thinks their politics are important enough to kill mother of two kids over. Lost for words..

Feckin hell, RIP :(

Could we also negotiate with ISIS to swap one of their hostages with Nick Griffin.

"Can't stand her politics". He might as well be saying, "I sort of condone this" or "I can understand why someone might have done this".

Double standards much? Considering that when someone on the right suffers a tragedy, liberals on this forum are very sparing with expressions of sympathy. And it's almost always qualified by some condemnation of the person's politics.

Awful. MPs are at serious risk of people such as this who have mental health issues. Sadly I'm not sure there's much that can be done. You've got to feel for her family at this time

He brought it up in the first tweet quoted.

Yep, it's clear to me what he's saying. He first suggests the remain campaign will use her death, then at the end says neither side should.

That in itself is bringing this tragedy into it and making it a discussion. Exactly what he wants so when it is spoke about, he can then twist it all for his purposes.

That is what years of hatred would bring. I hope the British people will now realise what is going on and will kick these terrorists out.

Yes, that's the same as a national politician saying that kind of shit.

The man responsible wasn't an immigrant. Seems to have been a far right supporter of Brexit. Too early to know anything for certain, though.

I know. You don't need to be an immigrant to be a terrorist and an extremist. As an immigrant whose been reading of how bad we are to the Brits I know that far too well

Very sad news.

I guess it's complacent to think but I just don't see this as something that happens in our country.
I'm sure most people feel or felt the same. Very shocking and grim news- we don't really want MP surgeries to be held behind bullet-proof glass, but you can't blame MPs for feeling very vulnerable after this.
The sad thing is, one of the next thoughts is wondering who will be the first vile fecker to try and make political capital from this.

That ship already sailed.
