Nice win for the boys!!, they put up the pressure in the second half and derserved the win. :boring: :boring:

Really enjoyed that second half.

Glad we didn't win by Diego's goal tbh as they should have had a penalty.

Great match! Fantastic performance by the United kids! :D

I'm so happy for the boys. Fantastic goal by Djemba. :D

English football at its very best and the fact that our kids could dominate Leeds' best team away during extra time is really good news. Great character, first coming back from 1-0 down and then again after the late equaliser. Great spirit. :D

It was good to see our young players growing in confidence as the game went on. Eagles looked good on the ball, not afraid to take players on.

Yeh it was good to see bellion score. He can become a real useful player once he learns how to time his runs properly and utilise his pace, which will come with more experience as he was always getting himself off-side. As for forlan, boy I think he needs at least half a dozen chances to score a goal.

Have faith in the team Livvie...like how Fergie does... ;)

 Did I say we wouldn't do well?

Mind, I will only have blind faith in proven players. Once I know they can do it I can have faith, otherwise I judge them on how they perform on the day.

Yes, and it looked like a foul before their first. Bellion might've been offsied when he scored too...

Touch and go, too close to call, the striker should always get the rub if the green, when it's that close.(according to the rules)

At 1st look at the starting lineup really worried me... but i am glad to see the new boys scoring... :) HURAYY !!!

Set my clock for 0315, was awaken by it, pressed the button & went back to sleep, thinking I'd sleep on for another 5 minutes.....
:boring: :boring: :boring:

Must be age catching up! :(

Glad they won tho' - hope to catch highlights or the repeat!

Man Utd boss pleased for youngsters after Leeds thriller

Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson was pleased with character his young players showed to beat Leeds United 3-2 in the Carling Cup last night.

Eric Djemba-Djemba struck the winner on 118 minutes after Roque Junior's two goals for Leeds had been cancelled out by David Bellion and Diego Forlan.

Afterwards, Ferguson said, "I couldn't envisage us winning the game at half-time.

"We were very undisciplined in the first half and that encouraged Leeds. But in fairness they responded to it and started playing once they felt they had a chance.

"We take our performance seriously. We always look for a performance. Today was a pressing game because Leeds always give us a good game.

"They could have been two or three up at half-time but once they did score we started to play.

"I felt it was the type of game that if we win, fine, but if not it was good experience for the young players."

Forlan said, "It is always good playing. We needed to come back from 1-0 down. Extra time was a little bit tough but it was good to play.

"This is our chance to play. It is good to play. You feel better every time you play. It's a great competition and was a great game for everyone.
